Lakeside Spine & Wellness is an evidence-based spine and joint rehab clinic in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago. Founder and clinic director Dr. Andrew Kiper started his career in film, television, and the restaurant industry, and turned to chiropractic after a neck injury left him without lasting relief from medication, physical therapy, and repeated doctor visits. After graduating and shadowing multiple clinics across Chicagoland, he founded Lakeside on genuine patient care and measurable clinical outcomes rather than the profit-driven, repetitive treatment plans he had seen elsewhere. The clinic brings chiropractic care, the McKenzie Method of MDT, physical therapy and rehabilitation, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, dry needling, cupping therapy, shockwave therapy, kinesiology taping, the Graston Technique, EMS body sculpting, and prenatal and postpartum care together under one roof. Conditions treated include back pain, neck pain, sciatica, herniated disc, scoliosis, chronic pain, pinched nerve, shoulder, hip and knee pain, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, arthritis, carpal tunnel, sports and personal injuries, auto accident injuries, whiplash, concussion, TMJ, vertigo, migraines, and headaches. Alongside Dr. Kiper the team includes Dr. Ivette Mendez, a lead chiropractor who is Cert MDT and Webster certified, Dr. Chunxin Chang, a doctor of acupuncture and herbal medicine, and massage therapists Ken Cook and Stephanie Cappello. Lakeside is in network with all Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Choice PPO plans excluding Medicare and Medicaid, accepts most out-of-network plans and bills them directly, and provides a complimentary insurance verification for new patients. HSA and FSA are accepted, and Medicaid and Medicare are not. For patients with high deductibles, out-of-network plans, or no coverage, the clinic offers annual care plans, package pricing, and interest-free financing through SunBit along with Afterpay and CareCredit. The practice serves Chicago neighborhoods including Andersonville, Ravenswood, Lakeview, Edgewater, Lincoln Park, Avondale, and Lincoln Square, plus Skokie.
