Fresh Start Detailers is a San Antonio auto detailing shop that has been restoring and professionally detailing vehicles since 2018. Led by CEO Nathan Salgado, the team works out of a shop on Eckhert Road and handles interior and exterior detailing, paint correction, ceramic coating, paint protection film, and heavy odor and remediation work. A fully equipped mobile unit brings its own power and water to residential and fleet customers who would rather have the work done at their location. Detail services run by appointment with a limited number of walk-ins available, and in shop customers can wait in a lounge with seating, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a bathroom. The business is licensed and insured, backs its detail work with a workmanship warranty, and also runs a residential and commercial carpet and upholstery cleaning division.

The Level 0 service is a general vacuum and steam detail on all surfaces. The Level 1 service is a deep interior detail with a steam and commercial shampoo treatment on cloth, leather and plastic surfaces. Exterior options run from a standard foam cannon and hand sponge wash to a deep decontamination spa wash with clay and iron treatment.

The showroom detail

The Level 2 flagship full reset detail. Includes deep interior steam and shampoo treatment, air tool carpet and seat blow out, commercially shampooed seats and carpets, general headliner cleaning, steam cleaned plastics and door jamb wipe down, plus a Level 2 exterior decontamination wash with paint sealant, engine bay cleaning, headlight protection and undercarriage wash.

Paint correction

Paint correction

Single stage enhancement polish, two stage cut and polish, or three stage wet sand, cut and polish to refine the finish further for heavy swirls, overspray etching and orange peel. Full vehicle paint correction includes a paint depth inspection before and after the service.

Ceramic coating

Ceramic coating

2 Year, 4 Year and 8 Year Graphene ceramic coating packages applied to painted panels, rim faces, plastic, chrome and windows depending on the package. One day cure time with next day pick up. Glass ceramic coating for windshields, windows, mirrors and headlamps is also available.

Paint protection film

Paint protection film

UPPF paint protection film in Partial PPF Front, Full Front and Full Wrap packages, available in black, matte, gloss and color. Residential and commercial film installation is also offered.

The business is licensed and insured, and detail services carry a workmanship warranty. If something was missed during your cleaning, the team will clean that area at no cost to you, in shop. Pre existing damage and permanently stained upholstery are not covered.

In shop or mobile, your choice

Drop your vehicle at the Eckhert Road shop and wait in the lounge with seating, Wi-Fi and air conditioning, or book the fully equipped mobile unit that brings its own power and water to your location.

Ceramic coating and paint protection film

Choose from 2 Year, 4 Year and 8 Year Graphene ceramic coatings, or UPPF paint protection film in Partial Front, Full Front and Full Wrap packages available in black, matte, gloss and color.

Odor, mold and flood remediation

Heavy smoke, flood, mold and insect odors are treated with commercial chemicals, odor foggers, ozone and moisture removal drying machines, with seat and carpet removal plus carpet replacement when the condition calls for it.

Discounts for military, first responders and teachers

Military and veterans get 15 percent off, on and off base. First responders get 15 percent off and teachers get 10 percent off. The discount is valid on standard detail services.

FAQs

Do you take walk-ins or same day appointments?
Detail services run by appointment and the shop focuses on quality over quantity, so booking ahead is recommended if you want a specific day or time. With the current location Fresh Start Detailers can take a limited number of walk-ins, so call or text the office to check whether a spot is open. You can book online or by phone, a $20 deposit is required to book with the remainder paid once the service is complete, and once the appointment is purchased you get a text message with the date and time. Same day cancellations and rescheduling depend on the openings available that week.
Do you offer mobile detailing?
Yes. Fresh Start Detailers runs a fully equipped mobile detailing unit that brings its own power and water to your location, for both residential and fleet customers. All the technicians need is access to your vehicle or home.
How long does a detail take?
The Showroom Detail takes five to six hours, the Fresh Start Detail takes two to three hours, and the Maintenance Detail takes one to two hours. Interior only work can take up to an hour off those times, and add-ons or customizations may change them.
Do you offer a warranty or guarantee?
Yes. Detail services come with a workmanship warranty, which means if something was missed during your cleaning the team will clean that area at no cost to you, in shop. It does not cover pre existing damage or permanently stained upholstery.
What ceramic coating options do you offer?
There are 2 Year, 4 Year and 8 Year Graphene ceramic coating packages. Coverage ranges from painted panels only on the 2 Year package up to painted surfaces, rim faces, plastic, chrome and windows on the 4 Year and 8 Year packages. Turnaround is one day of cure time with next day pick up. Note that ceramic coatings do not prevent rock chip damage the way paint protection film does.
Can you remove smoke, mold or flood odors from a vehicle?
Yes. Odor detailing starts at $700 for the whole car odor bomb detail treatment, with a seat removal fee per area as an add-on. The process can use commercial chemicals, odor foggers, ozone and moisture removal drying machines plus cabin air filter replacement, and seat and carpet removal in some cases. These services require an in shop drop off, and turnaround ranges from a few days up to a month depending on the service.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Fresh Start Detailers accepts credit and debit cards and cash.
Do you clean home and business carpets too?
Yes. Fresh Start also handles residential and commercial carpet and upholstery cleaning using hot water extraction, along with hardwood and tile cleaning, and has serviced contracts for apartments, homes and hospitals since 2018.
