Art's Detailing & Headliners is an auto detailing and headliner replacement shop at 1901 Southwest 4th Street in Cape Coral, Florida. The site states the business has been serving Cape Coral since 1991 and has been in the business for over 40 years. It is run as a one man business with attention to detail, and the stated shop rule is to give the customer exactly what they are expecting to pay for and a little bit extra, with the aim of being the best of the best. Detailing is sold in levels. A hand wash covers a hand wash and pressure rinse, a chemical clean of the wheels and wheel wells to remove all brake dust, a chamois dry of the exterior, tire dressing, vacuuming, and window cleaning. Wash and wax adds a hand wax of the exterior, wax removed from the crevices, and polished chrome. Buff and wax adds a machine buff of the paint to take out light oxidation, scratches, and marks from all painted surfaces. The interior detail is a shampoo, clean, and detail of every inch inside the vehicle including the door jams, with all floor mats pressure washed. A full detail combines the exterior and interior work and adds a degreased and pressure washed engine compartment, door jams, spare tire, gas filler, and frame, then a shampoo and detail of 100 percent of the interior. Clay bar work gradually removes hard water spots, paint overspray, and industrial fallout from the exterior finish. Headliners are the other half of the shop. The headboard is removed from the vehicle, the deteriorated foam and cloth are stripped off, and new headliner material and foam are attached with cabinet glue that gets stronger with age. The material is wrapped an inch over the top of the board all the way around so it cannot fall around the edges the way it does from the factory, and the board is then reinstalled. Sun visors and sun roof slide panels can be recovered as well when needed, and the site also lists carpet replacement and interior repairs. Work extends past cars: motorcycles are raised on a hydraulic lift, stripped of windshield, seat, and saddlebags, chemically washed, blow dried for a spot free finish, buffed, then given two coats of teflon and resin. Motor homes and RVs are washed from the roof down and compounded, buffed, and hand waxed with a quality paint sealant. Boats are chemically washed inside and out, the sun deteriorated gel coat is wet sanded and compounded back to an even shine, and a marine wax is applied by hand. Other services include headlight restoration using multiple grits of wet sandpaper and 3M compound sealed with a permanent sealant, pin-striping on vehicles that have none or in place of old pin-striping, vinyl covered custom trunk panels with raised lettering and designs, engine and engine compartment painting in factory colors, permanent paint sealants, and waxes containing teflon and resins that seal the paint, brighten the color, and provide ultra violet protection. Vehicles handled include autos, motor homes, motorcycles, semi tractors, RVs, and boats. The shop is open 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, and the site asks customers to call or stop by for a price estimate.
