The clinic specializes in the Palmer Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic technique, also called the H.I.O or Hole-In-One method, which focuses on the atlas and axis to restore head and neck alignment so the body's natural self-healing process can begin. Alongside upper cervical care, the practice handles TMJ and TMD disorders, pediatric and pre-natal care, car accident and whiplash injuries, personal injury cases, and extremity adjustments for the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. Care begins with X-rays of the upper cervical region and full spine, followed by adjustments performed by the doctor's hands. FAQs
What is the Palmer Upper Cervical Specific technique?
It is the H.I.O or Hole-In-One method, which focuses on the atlas and axis at the point where the head and neck join. Misalignment there can cause interference, or subluxation, that prevents the brain from sending healing messages, and the adjustment is designed to restore that alignment.
What happens on a first visit?
Dr. Hyeon Joo Park, D.C., M.S. takes X-rays of the upper cervical region and full spine to examine the degree of misalignment. The adjustment is then performed by the doctor's hands to restore head, neck, and spinal alignment.
Do you treat TMJ and TMD?
Yes. The clinic provides specialized adjustments for Temporomandibular Joint Disorders, including jaw pain and tenderness, difficulty chewing or opening wide, clicking or popping in the jaw, and facial aching or ear pain.
Do you see children and expecting mothers?
Yes. The practice offers gentle chiropractic care for infants, children, and expecting mothers, and Dr. Park's clinical specializations include pediatric chiropractic care (I.C.P.A.).
Do you treat car accident injuries?
Yes. The clinic treats whiplash and other injuries sustained in automobile accidents, along with personal injury cases such as slips and falls. The site notes that aftereffects of a car accident often appear one to two days, or even a few months, after the accident.
Is Korean spoken at the clinic?
The clinic publishes its website in both English and Korean, and Dr. Hyeon Joo Park, D.C., M.S. is described as the first and only Korean American capable of practicing the Palmer Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractic technique.
Are you open on weekends?
The office has Saturday morning hours from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and is closed on Sunday.
What are the doctor's credentials?
Dr. Hyeon Joo Park, D.C., M.S. holds a B.S. in Biotechnology from Yonsei University, a Doctor of Chiropractic from Life University earned summa cum laude, and an M.S. in Sport Injury Management from Life University. She is a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (C.C.E.P.).
