FAQs

Do you provide free estimates?
Yes. Tree People provides free estimates in Seattle, emailed with all prices itemized. Tree removal costs start at $275 and are determined by the scope of work.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Tree People is licensed, bonded, and insured so all jobs are protected and responsibly handled. We are an SDCI Registered Tree Service Provider (LIC-TSP-18582), an SDOT Registered Tree Service Provider (115), and hold Contractor License TREEPPI830MO.
Do you handle emergency tree removal?
Yes. For hazardous or storm damaged trees, our Certified Arborists can promptly and safely handle emergency tree removal. We can remove a tree even if it has fallen on a house or structure, and we clean up branches and debris after a storm.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Seattle?
Seattle requires a permit if your proposed work involves removing and replacing a tree, and effective November 30 2022, all trees being pruned or removed in Seattle must have a notice posted. Tree People will ensure you have the necessary permits and can file them for you or guide you through the process.
What happens to the wood after a tree is removed?
Branch debris is chipped and donated to places in the Seattle area that need woodchips, and chunks of wood are donated to people who need firewood. Some clients prefer to keep their wood to split for firewood themselves.
Do you offer stump grinding?
Yes. Tree People offers stump grinding to the greater Seattle area. The stump is ground 12 inches under the surface, the mulch created fills the hole, and we advise on how best to prepare the ground afterward, whether you plant grass or another tree.
Can I get wood chips delivered?
Yes. You can sign up to request free wood chips or firewood rounds and we will contact you when an opportunity comes up in your neighborhood. Availability fluctuates, and we cannot deliver loads smaller than 4 yards unless you are in the immediate area of a job.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and closed Saturday and Sunday. Call (206) 853-4538 to schedule your quote.
