FAQs
What areas do you serve?
Locksmith services are focused on Fremont, Greenwood, Green Lake, Phinney Ridge, Wallingford, the University District, Northgate, Ravenna, View Ridge and Maple Leaf. Service is kept to a four mile radius to maintain short response times to those neighborhoods and the areas in between.
How much does a lockout cost?
For a North Seattle address the first lock is 120 dollars total with tax already included, and it costs more during rush hour (7:30-9am or 4:30-7pm), between 7pm and 2am, on weekends (add 50% to listed prices) or outside North Seattle. Vehicle lockouts start at 100 dollars for any vehicle with the service call and tax included in the price, with higher rush hour, late night and weekend rates.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Maple Leaf Locksmith LLC is a licensed, insured and bonded CPL offering certified professional Seattle mobile locksmith services.
Will my keys still work after you pick the lock?
Yes. Hire him and your key will still work in your lock afterwards, and in most cases he can open a home, office or car without damaging the lock or door. He does not open doors with unprofessional tools such as air wedges, giant pliers or crowbars.
How fast can you get here?
If not otherwise engaged his response time is 25 to 45 minutes tops. If you are nearby he will unlock your car within 25 minutes of getting off the phone with you, or your house within 25 minutes of receiving a text message containing the address. A wrong address or vague directions may take a little longer.
Do you rekey locks?
Yes, both residential and commercial, at approximately 8 locks per hour. Rekeying is a 120 dollar service call to North Seattle with tax included, plus 25 dollars per conventional deadbolt or doorknob in working condition with a working key, and two keys are included for free. Restricted keyways such as Medeco and Protec2, and Best style removable cores, cost more.
Can you open safes?
Yes. Safe work covers opening or unlocking a safe and replacing a safe lock. Maple Leaf Locksmith is also certified by Kaba Mas to install and operate the X-10 lock, though not certified to modify containers, so an X-10 in the Seattle area can be reprogrammed or replaced.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment by cash, cheque or card is due at time of completion of services unless prior arrangements have been made.
