Tomoko Auto Care Center
Tomoko Auto Care Center is a full-service auto shop based in the SoDo neighborhood of Seattle, offering what it describes as the most honest and straightforward mechanic experience you have ever had. The shop was opened in 2004 by Tony, an electrical technician who trained as an automotive technician at Shoreline Community College after being ripped off one too many times by dishonest mechanics, and moved to the SoDo/Industrial District area in 2010. ASE certified technicians handle routine maintenance such as oil and filter changes, tire rotation, brake pad and rotor replacement, wiper and battery replacement, coolant flushes and timing belt and timing chain replacement, along with repairs to radiators, engines, air conditioning, electrical systems and head gaskets, plus emissions, diagnostic code and check engine light diagnostics. Tomoko uses OEM parts and supplies, will install parts you supply yourself, and does not upsell - the shop only recommends repairs it would perform on its own vehicles. Work the shop is not equipped for, including tire mounting, wheel balancing and alignment, body work and exhaust repairs, is referred out to other trustworthy businesses in the Seattle area.

FAQs
Do I need to wait with my car, or can I drop it off?
You can drop your car off, however Tomoko asks that you call or email the shop first to ensure there is space in the parking area before you stop by.
Do you use genuine parts?
Yes. Tomoko uses OEM parts and supplies so you can be confident that the work the shop does will be reliable and long-lasting.
Can I bring my own parts?
Yes. If you want to use parts you own, Tomoko will install them at your request.
Are there any repairs you do not do?
Tomoko is not equipped to mount tires, or balance and align wheels, and does not perform body work or exhaust repairs. The shop is happy to refer you to other trustworthy businesses in the area for that work.
Are your technicians certified?
Yes. Tomoko's ASE certified technicians give you a straightforward diagnosis so you have all the information you need to make the right decision for your car.
What are your hours?
Tomoko Auto Care Center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6pm, and is closed Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
How long have you been in business?
Tony opened Tomoko Auto Care Center in Capitol Hill, Seattle in 2004 after completing his automotive studies at Shoreline Community College, and moved the shop to the SoDo/Industrial District area in 2010.
Will you try to sell me repairs I do not need?
No. Tomoko describes itself as a traditional auto shop that does not upsell you on more repairs or recommend fancy maintenance packages. As the shop puts it, if we would not do it on our own car, we do not suggest you should.
