FAQs
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. Tangelo is in network with most major insurance plans, including Regence, Blue Cross Blue Shield, MODA, American Specialty Health, Providence, Aetna, Cigna, Health Net, Anthem Blue Cross, First Choice, Multiplan, United Healthcare, Premera, Pacific Source and Kaiser Permanente, along with Personal Injury Protection for auto accident claims. A complimentary benefits check is completed on your first visit so you know what to expect for your coverage.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
In most cases, a referral is not required. If you would like your estimated costs reviewed ahead of time, submit your insurance details 48 hours before your appointment and the team will go over them with you at your first visit before you see the doctor.
What happens at my first appointment?
The first visit includes a comprehensive functional movement evaluation and orthopedic exam, a diagnosis, treatment with manual therapy and adjustments, and rehabilitation exercises. Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring your insurance card, photo ID and a calendar for scheduling future appointments.
What is the difference between a consultation and a new patient appointment?
Consultations run 15 to 20 minutes, are complimentary and do not include treatment. A new patient appointment is a full hour and covers the complete evaluation plus treatment.
How long are appointments?
New patient appointments take about one hour and follow-up visits run 45 to 55 minutes. Back-to-back appointments can be scheduled, since each visit builds on the treatments before it.
Do you have physical therapists on staff?
All of the doctors at Tangelo are Chiropractors. The rehabilitation specialists work under the doctors' direction and hold corrective exercise certifications, which is how chiropractic care and rehab are combined in a single visit.
Is spinal decompression covered by insurance, and what does it cost?
Insurance companies consider spinal decompression an elective procedure, so it is not covered. Tangelo states the cost is usually somewhere between $150 and $225 per visit, with sessions running 15 to 25 minutes.
Do I need a sports injury to be treated here?
No. The team also treats overuse injuries, post-surgical cases, accidents and general maintenance, and works with conditions such as low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, plantar fasciitis, headaches, shoulder, knee, hip and wrist pain, tendonitis, auto injuries and whiplash.
