FAQs
Do you charge for estimates?
No. You can request a free estimate, and a territory manager conducts a thorough walkthrough so every detail is included in the detailed, written estimate you receive.
Do you require a deposit or down payment?
Southern Painting offices do not require a deposit or down payment for residential projects. A deposit may be required on large projects.
What warranty do you provide?
Every customer receives a 3-Year Limited Labor Warranty. Paint services are guaranteed not to peel, blister, or flake for three years from the date of application. Doors and French or wood windows carry a one-year warranty, and the warranty is limited to workmanship rather than the paint itself, which is guaranteed by its manufacturer.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell my house?
Yes. The 3-Year Limited Labor Warranty is fully transferable, so if you sell your home within the three-year warranty period the warranty transfers to the new homeowner.
Are you bonded and insured?
Each Southern Painting office carries a minimum general liability policy of $1,000,000 each occurrence and $2,000,000 general aggregate, and each independent contractor is required to carry a minimum $10,000 assurance bond.
Who will be doing the painting?
The painting is carried out by carefully selected professional independent contractors, and each team has a working foreman. Many of the teams have been with Southern Painting for more than 10 years.
What paint do you use?
Southern Painting uses top-quality paints from major paint manufacturers such as Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and PPG Pittsburgh Paint, and recommends viewing color samples before application.
What does your exterior prep work involve?
Exterior work follows a five-step process: power washing to remove dirt, mildew, algae and cobwebs, hand scraping and minor wood repair, priming bare wood, metal, water stains, rust and new carpentry, caulking seams, joints, cracks and nail holes, and finally painting or staining. Southern Painting will never power wash and paint in the same day.
