Principal David Blair focuses on high quality workmanship and materials for homeowners and small business owners. Work includes dry rot repair, deck and fence repair, finish carpentry, historic wood window restoration, stair and balustrade repair, ADA grab bar and handrail installation, and custom cabinets and woodworking built to fit a specific space. All work is done under contract with detailed written specifications, and Festool Cleantec HEPA dust extraction is used on every client job site. I am interested in having you look at my project, what is next?
Photos of your proposed project are helpful, so take photos from different views and email them to portlandhandymancarpentry@gmail.com. Once the photos are reviewed, David can determine whether he can provide a solution and you can schedule a site visit.
Do you do work under contract?
Yes, all work is done under contract. After the site visit, a proposed project plan is developed with detailed written specifications explaining the building procedures and materials to be used, then emailed to the prospective client for review and approval via DocuSign.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Portland Handyman Carpentry is licensed, bonded and insured, and holds Oregon CCB #243084.
Do you repair stairs?
Yes. Stairs can be repaired or rebuilt, and stairway baluster and balustrade repair or replacement is also offered.
Can you custom build a project to fit my space?
Yes. David has collaborated with clients who have specific ideas but have not been able to find furniture quality objects that fit their space, including custom cabinets, bookcases, utility cabinets and countertops.
How do you keep my home clean while you work?
Festool Cleantec HEPA dust extraction is used on each client job site. The Festool tools connect to a HEPA dust extraction unit designed to remove 99.97 percent of airborne particles measuring 0.3 micrometers or greater in diameter.
What kind of work do you take on?
Services include dry rot repair, deck repair or replacement, fence and gate repair, door repair and lockset replacement, finish carpentry such as baseboards, stair railings, crown molding and wainscoting, fireplace mantels, furniture repair and restoration, general home maintenance, hardwood floor inlay work, custom picture hanging and ADA grab bar and handrail installation.
