Our Neighborhood Handyman
Our Neighborhood Handyman LLC is an insured, background-checked handyman company serving homeowners, landlords, property managers, and small commercial properties along the I-95 corridor, including Philadelphia. It started as a one-man operation in Brooklyn run by Jafar Amin and grew into a full-service team working across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The crew handles furniture assembly, painting and drywall, carpentry, tile and flooring, light plumbing and electrical repairs, property turnovers, and seasonal maintenance. Every job runs on a transparent digital estimate before work begins, before and after photos uploaded to your client portal, and a digital invoice you can pay online. Estimates are free, technicians are background-checked and dispatched by the office, and there are no hidden fees.

FAQs
Are your handymen licensed and insured?
Every ONH technician is background-checked and vetted, and every job is covered by ONH's active liability insurance. Work that requires a licensed trade, such as plumbing or electrical, is performed by ONH's licensed contractor partners in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Do you charge for estimates?
No. Estimates are free. You receive a detailed digital estimate before any work begins, and most jobs include a written estimate with Good, Better, and Best options so you can choose the scope that fits.
How much does a handyman cost in Philadelphia?
Every job starts with a free, detailed written estimate with Good, Better, and Best pricing options before any work begins. There is no hourly guesswork and no surprise charges. Larger services like plumbing start at $200, and your estimate shows the exact price for your job up front.
Do you offer same-day service?
Same-day estimates are available, and service can often be scheduled within 24 to 48 hours depending on technician availability in your area.
What areas do you serve?
Our Neighborhood Handyman serves the I-95 corridor, including Philadelphia PA, Wilmington DE, Newark NJ, and New York City, along with the surrounding suburbs of those metro areas.
Do you work with landlords and property managers?
Yes. There is a dedicated Property Manager Portal where managers can submit maintenance requests, track work orders, approve estimates, and pay invoices online, and plans start free for up to 3 properties. Property turnover packages cover wall patching, interior painting, door and lock repairs, fixture replacement, and final punch-list repairs.
What happens after I request service?
You submit a request online or by phone, then receive a clear, written digital estimate with Good, Better, and Best options that you review and approve right from your Client Portal. Job photos, estimates, invoices, and job history live in the portal, and the digital invoice at the end can be paid online through Stripe.
