Movement Medicine Chiropractic Performance & Recovery
Movement Medicine Chiropractic Performance & Recovery is a sports chiropractic practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania led by Dr. Joel Gyimesi, who has practiced as a chiropractor in the Philadelphia and Main Line area for the last 15 years. The practice helps active adults and young adolescents get back to the workouts, activities, and sports they love through sports chiropractic care, performance care, and recovery care. Each session is 60 to 90 minutes of one-on-one time between client and doctor with no hand off to assistants, and care combines joint manipulation, soft tissue work, and progressive exercise programs. Sessions are available in person at Warhorse Barbell Club in the Graduate Hospital and Northern Liberties neighborhoods (membership is not required), as a mobile visit to your home, gym, or place of business across the Philadelphia region, or virtually through a video platform built into the booking site. Conditions treated include sciatica, low back pain, S/I joint pain, hip and knee pain, plantar fasciitis, Achilles and patellar tendinopathy, neck pain, nerve entrapments, shoulder pain and impingement, carpal tunnel syndrome, and chronically unrehabilitated post-surgical cases. Dr. Gyimesi holds the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) designation from the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians and the International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICCSP) from the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic. Movement Medicine is an out-of-network provider that accepts HSA and FSA and can supply an itemized bill on request for a reimbursement review.

FAQs
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the type of injury, your injury history, and the goals you are trying to achieve. That said, most clients feel better, move better, and are ready to perform within 6 to 10 sessions spread over 3 to 6 months. If care is not making progress, Movement Medicine will recommend a referral to the appropriate health care professional.
How often should I schedule my sessions?
Initially Movement Medicine recommends scheduling follow up sessions 5 to 7 days apart. That gives you time to test drive the self care program you have been armed with and for feedback to take place between sessions.
How long is a session and who will I see?
Each session is 60 to 90 minutes of one-on-one time between client and doctor. You always have the undivided attention of a single doctor and there is no hand off to assistants.
Do you take my insurance or HSA and FSA?
Movement Medicine is an out-of-network provider and does not participate with insurance directly. If you have out of network benefits, an itemized bill can be provided on request after your session so you can submit it to your insurer for a reimbursement review. HSA and FSA are accepted. The practice is not a participating provider with Medicare.
Do I need an X-ray before seeing you?
No. Imaging is only warranted if red flags come up while taking an inventory of your history and during your evaluation. Otherwise it is not a productive use of time and resources and it does not usually change the course of care.
Can I keep working out and training as I go through care?
In most cases Movement Medicine advocates that you continue to be active to maintain fitness levels while closely monitoring your symptoms. Your tailored self care program is built to keep you successful in your recovery.
Do you offer mobile or virtual sessions?
Yes. Mobile sessions come to your home, gym, or place of business across the Philadelphia region and beyond. Virtual sessions run through an easy to use video platform integrated with the booking site, so you can be seen no matter where you are.
What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Movement Medicine requires 24 hours advance notice to cancel or reschedule. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours, you will be charged for the session.
