McKinley Family Chiropractic is a family chiropractic practice at 2242 Irving Park Road in Chicago, IL 60618, working under the motto Hope. Heal. Thrive. Three chiropractic physicians see patients here: Dr. Heath McKinley, the founder and CEO, alongside Dr. Matthew Ray and Dr. Cain Winebrenner. The office offers chiropractic care plus the Activator method, applied kinesiology, the Gonstead technique, functional medicine, pediatric and family chiropractic, pregnancy chiropractic, and sports chiropractic, and it works with conditions including back pain, neck pain, migraines and headaches, sciatica, herniated disc, TMJ, whiplash and car accident injury, carpal tunnel, dizziness and vertigo, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, sleep concerns, and anxiousness. The stated approach is to get to the root cause of a health concern rather than to mask symptoms. New patients go through a two visit process: a consultation and physical exam with one of the chiropractic physicians, possibly followed by digital x-ray and an sEMG muscle tension scan, then a second visit for the report of findings and a personalized health plan. The office also uses InBody body metrics and metabolic blood testing. All of the doctors are certified in the Webster Technique, and the office treats children starting as early as a few weeks old. The practice serves Chicago and nearby neighborhoods including Avondale, Edgewater, Irving Park, St. Bens, Lake View, Lincoln Square, North Center, Near North Side, Portage Park, Sheridan Park, Ravenswood, Ravenswood Gardens, Rogers Park, and Roscoe Village.

FAQs

What services does McKinley Family Chiropractic offer?
The office offers chiropractic care, the Activator method, applied kinesiology, the Gonstead technique, functional medicine, pediatric chiropractic, family chiropractic, pregnancy chiropractic, and sports chiropractic.
Do you accept insurance?
The practice is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. Outside of that, about 90 percent of the practice is cash based or patients use the office's super bill system. Call the office to confirm how your plan would work.
What does my first visit consist of?
The initial appointment is a consultation and physical exam with one of the chiropractic physicians, followed by a possible x-ray and sEMG test depending on the findings during the consultation. New patient exams usually last between 20 and 40 minutes depending on the case.
How much is the initial visit?
The consultation with the doctor is complimentary. Based on that consultation the doctors may recommend an sEMG exam, an x-ray, or both. The sEMG test is $145 and the x-ray is $150.
Will I be adjusted on the first visit?
That depends entirely on the doctors' decision. When a full exam is done with the sEMG and x-ray, it can take up to an hour to analyze and annotate, which would require scheduling a report of findings for another day.
Do you treat pregnant patients and children?
Yes to both. All of the doctors are certified in the Webster Technique, which is geared toward treating pregnant women, and the office treats children starting as early as a few weeks old.
How does the new patient process work?
Over the course of two visits the team gets to know you and your health concerns using tools such as EMG, digital x-rays, and muscle analysis, then builds a personalized health plan. Plan on 45 minutes for the first appointment, arriving 10 minutes early if you filed forms online or 15 minutes early to fill them out at the office.
