Dave's Lock & Key Shop is a locksmith shop at 2210 Edgewater Drive in the College Park section of Orlando, between Princeton and Smith. The store says it has been serving satisfied return customers for the past 46 years, and Dave is described as a 3rd generation locksmith whose grandfather was a metalsmith turned locksmith who often made the entire lock. The shop does locksmithing in shop or out. It stocks duplicate and original keys in 1850 plus varieties, along with car and truck keys and remotes in traditional, transponder or electronic styles, a full line of commercial keys, motorcycle and scooter keys, and a complete line of residential keys both foreign and domestic, plus cabinet keys, antique keys, padlock keys and high security keys. Inventory also covers replacement car locks, house locks, commercial locks, door closers, cabinet locks, a full line of padlocks, hasps, key rings and key accessories. House work includes locks re-keyed, repaired and installed: deadbolts, knobs and levers, antique locks, decorative locks, push-button locks, biometric and pick-proof locks, and cabinet locks. Commercial work covers ADA lever locks, panic bars, door closers, deadbolts, push-button locks, storefront door locks, electric strikes, access control systems and cabinet locks, and locks can be re-keyed, keyed alike or master keyed. On the automotive side the shop notes that most cars now use a mechanical key with a transponder chip or a push button remote in the head, and some use only a fobik, and it says it can provide the same duplicating and programming service as your new car dealer, as well as keys and locks for hitches, car top carriers and auxiliary locks, and remote control replacement, repair or service. Motorcycles, ATVs and scooters use a wide variety of key blanks, often a different blank for each model, and the shop says it carries them all. It also carries keys and key floats for every type of watercraft, office furniture locks and code keys, padlocks, cables, hasps, bike locks and hitch locks, and keys for antique furniture, locks and banks. Today the shop employs skilled technicians who can make original keys, recode, install or repair locks, panic bars, electronic locks, push-button locks, door closers and cabinet locks. If you are tired of looking for an unusual key, the shop invites you to email a picture and it will respond.
