Tall Boys Detailing is a car detailing business working out of a fully-equipped garage in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, run by Austin Konchar. Austin started detailing at 18 to help fund his first car, later moved to California and detailed along the coast where he picked up hand-applied clay bar and ceramic coating techniques, then brought that approach back to Chicago. Every vehicle is detailed, cleaned, and protected using high-quality products, inside and out. The team offers both mobile detailing and detailing at the Lakeview garage, plus pick-up and drop-off service within 2.5 miles of the garage. Two packages are available. The Full Detail is a complete interior and exterior detail covering pressure washing, hand washing and towel drying, clay bar spot treatment, buffing and polishing for light scratches and swirls, carnauba hand wax, engine VPR cleaning, vacuuming, hand-cleaned carpet and upholstery, deep-cleaned vents and door panels, and cleaned and conditioned leather. The Lux Detail adds S1O2 ceramic protectant for year-round, bumper-to-fender protection, sealing the clear coat, exterior glass, wheels, engine, door jambs, and interior surfaces. Package prices vary based on the size of the vehicle, and the team does not do exterior or interior-only details.

Detailing performed away from the shop. Both mobile detailing and detailing at the fully-equipped Lakeview garage are offered.
Ceramic coating
S1O2 ceramic protectant applied for year-round, bumper-to-fender protection, interior included. Sealed surfaces include the clear coat, exterior glass, wheels, engine, and door jambs.
Paint polishing and swirl removal
The vehicle is buffed and polished to rid it of light scratches and swirls, then hand-waxed with high-quality carnauba wax.
Clay bar treatment
Paint is inspected to determine clay bar and polish strength, then treated with clay bar to lift contaminants from the clear coat.

Yes. Teachers, active military and veterans, first responders, and nurses receive 20% off all detailing packages year-round, and Uber drivers receive 10% off. Refer a friend and you both receive $50 off your next detail.
