Home Improvement Express - Denver
Home Improvement Express is a remodeling and handyman company that has served clients since 1999 and covers the Colorado Front Range from its Denver metro location. The business started as a sole proprietor handyman operation, grew into a design-build remodeling company and then a custom home building company, and was re-launched in 2018 with a deliberate focus on handyman services and smaller remodeling projects. The service list is broad: deck and fence repair, carpentry, doors and trim, tile installations, basic plumbing and electrical, drywall repair, vinyl and laminate flooring, light demolition, and aging-in-place and senior safety work, plus complete or partial kitchen and bath remodels with full design services as needed. Homeowners preparing a house for sale or working through inspection resolution items frequently hand the whole punch list to the company. Junk removal has been added to the service offerings at the Denver Metro and NOCO locations. Home Improvement Express states that it is fully licensed and insured, that all of its craftsmen carry a minimum of fifteen years experience, and that those craftsmen routinely receive continuing education to maintain and update their skills. The founder holds the Graduate Master Builder, Graduate Master Remodeler, Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, and Certified Green Professional designations. Craftsmen drive fully stocked service vans with GPS tracking. Pricing is hourly at $165 per craftsman hour and $95 per apprentice hour with a 4-hour labor minimum of $660, materials are billed at exactly what the company pays for them, and there is no mobilization or trip fee. Estimates are free and all labor carries a one-year warranty.

FAQs
Do you charge for estimates?
No, Home Improvement Express does not charge for estimates. If your project is smaller, meaning less than a day's work, email pictures and a project description to Estimates@HomeImprovementExpress.com. If your project is larger and you would prefer an in-home estimate appointment, the site lets you schedule a time that is convenient for you.
Do you have a guarantee or warranty?
Yes. The company confidently provides a one-year warranty on all labor, and a copy of the warranty is linked from its FAQ page so you can read the terms before you book.
Do you charge by the hour or by the project?
By the hour. Labor is billed at $165 per craftsman hour and $95 per apprentice hour.
Is there a minimum labor charge?
Yes. There is a 4-hour minimum on labor, which comes to $660 at the $165 per hour craftsman rate.
Do you accept credit cards?
For projects under $5,000.00 the company accepts VISA, MC, AMEX, DISC, and JCB cards. For projects over $5,000.00 it prefers ACH payments, but will accept credit cards with a 3% fee added.
Do you charge a mobilization or trip fee?
No. Home Improvement Express does not charge a mobilization or trip fee.
How do you charge for materials?
The company does not mark up the materials it purchases for your job, because the labor rate already covers the time required to buy and deliver them. Whatever it pays for the materials used on your project is what you are charged. Subcontracted items such as countertops, cabinets, and glass are marked up.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
The service offering is deliberately diverse: handyman and routine maintenance work, home-sale prep lists, inspection resolution items, and complete or partial kitchen and bath remodels with full design services as needed. Junk removal is also available at the Denver Metro and NOCO locations.
