Functional AIM Chiropractic is a San Antonio chiropractic practice that Dr. Burns and his wife opened in January 2020. The name describes the approach: correct Alignment, reduce Inflammation, and restore Mobility and stability, with the goal of restoring each patient's optimal function. Care starts with hearing your story and taking a detailed history, then an individualized treatment plan is built around the functional goals set together. Dr. Burns is a licensed chiropractor and a 2018 graduate of Texas Chiropractic College in Houston, with clinical training in chiropractic adjusting techniques, myofascial release therapy, postural corrective care, and biomechanical re-education, so treatment addresses the root cause of pain and dysfunction rather than the symptoms alone. The office also offers DOC spinal decompression for bulging and protruding disc material and SoftWave TRT, a patented technology used to stimulate cellular repair and reduce acute and chronic pain. The practice is located on Blanco Road in San Antonio and can be reached by call or text.

Why choose us?

The AIM method

Every treatment plan works on three things at once: correcting alignment, reducing the inflammation behind pain and stiffness, and restoring mobility and joint stability.

Individualized treatment plans

Dr. Burns hears your story and takes a detailed history, then builds a plan around the functional goals you set together rather than a standard routine.

Root cause approach

Training in adjusting techniques, myofascial release therapy, postural corrective care, and biomechanical re-education is used to treat the whole body, not a complaint in isolation.

Spinal decompression available

The DOC decompression system slowly lengthens the spine to help reposition bulging discs, take pressure off pinched nerves, and let nutrients and oxygen reach injured discs.

SoftWave TRT therapy

SoftWave TRT uses patented technology that increases blood supply, modulates inflammation, and stimulates cellular repair to reduce acute and chronic pain.

Saturday morning hours

In addition to the weekday schedule, the office sees patients on Saturday mornings from 8am to noon.

FAQs

What is the AIM method?
AIM stands for the three parts of health the practice works on together: Alignment, which means correcting spinal misalignments and improving posture; Inflammation, which means reducing the inflammation that contributes to pain, stiffness, and chronic conditions; and Mobility and Stability, which means restoring proper movement and joint stability throughout the body.
What services does Functional AIM Chiropractic offer?
The practice offers chiropractic adjustments, myofascial release therapy, postural corrective care, and biomechanical re-education, along with DOC spinal decompression and SoftWave TRT. Every plan begins with assessment and diagnosis, including a detailed history and an individualized treatment plan.
What are your office hours?
The office is open Tuesday through Thursday from 9am to 6pm, Friday from 8am to 2pm, and Saturday from 8am to noon. It is closed Sunday and Monday.
Where is the office located?
Functional AIM Chiropractic is at 14855 Blanco Road, Suite 102, San Antonio, TX 78216. You can call or text the office at (210) 570-6041.
What is SoftWave TRT and what does it treat?
SoftWave TRT uses a patented technology that accelerates the body's natural healing process by stimulating processes at the cellular level. It increases blood supply, modulates inflammation, stimulates cellular repair, remodels and regenerates tissue, and reduces acute and chronic pain. It is used for back pain, knee pain, shoulder pain, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, jumper's knee, stress fractures, foot ulcer pain, scar tissue, fascial release, Morton's neuroma, and more.
How does spinal decompression work?
The DOC decompression system slowly lengthens and decompresses the spine. That movement creates negative pressure inside the disc, and the resulting intradiscal vacuum helps reposition bulging discs and protruding disc material. The goal is to realign the spinal discs, let nutrients and oxygen flow back into injured discs, take pressure off pinched nerves, and relieve pain.
Who will I see for treatment?
Dr. Burns, a licensed chiropractor in San Antonio and a 2018 graduate of Texas Chiropractic College in Houston. He practiced as an associate chiropractor at Murray Chiropractic Center before he and his wife opened Functional AIM Chiropractic in January 2020.
