William Forest started the business selling hardware for one-piece garage doors, and the company is still run by the family today, with Jill as fourth-generation president. The team installs and repairs residential and commercial garage doors, openers, springs, cables, rollers, and tracks, and it prioritizes emergency calls with same-day service across most of Chicago and the western suburbs. Unlike most garage door companies, Forest also runs a physical showroom and a walk-in parts store, and it supplies contractors through its wholesale garage door supply. Do you offer emergency garage door repair?
Yes. Forest prioritizes emergency calls and offers same-day service across most of Chicago and the western suburbs. The trucks carry springs, cables, rollers, and common opener parts, so the vast majority of emergency calls are finished on the first visit. Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Estimates are free. For a new door, Forest provides a free job-site estimate and a two-hour arrival window, and the estimator brings color swatches, samples, literature, and a written proposal.
My garage door spring broke. What should I do?
Stop operating the door. Running the opener against a broken spring makes the damage worse and can be dangerous. Keep people, pets, and vehicles clear of the door, unplug the opener, and call the office at (708) 652-9405 for a quote to replace the springs.
Can I see the doors before I buy?
Yes. Unlike most garage door companies, Forest has a full size showroom and a walk-in parts store. You can browse door models, panel designs, colors, window options, decorative hardware, and openers in person. The showroom is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:00pm and Saturday from 7:30am to 12:30pm.
How soon can a new garage door be installed?
Many doors are in stock and available for installation within a week. Special order doors take longer, and Forest provides an approximate lead time and requires a deposit to place the order.
What garage door openers do you sell and service?
Forest is an authorized LiftMaster dealer and handles opener installation, replacement, and repair. All of the openers sold are myQ enabled, so you can open, close, monitor, and set schedules from a smart device.
Do you price match?
No. Forest prices its doors and installation labor fairly and does not price match. The team encourages customers to visit the showroom to compare the product in person, and it is happy to talk through steel gauge, insulation values, and other terms that come up when collecting quotes.
