FAQs
Do you require a deposit, and can I cancel?
No deposit is required to reserve a move slot, and cancellation is free. If you need to cancel or reschedule, Einstein asks only that you let the office know as soon as possible.
What is included in your hourly rate?
The hourly rate includes 2 or more trained and vetted movers, a fully equipped moving truck and gas inside the free service area, loading and unloading, assembly and disassembly of standard furniture, wraps, pads and protection equipment, taxes and standard insurance, and $2,000 in damage coverage. Inside the free service area there are no assembly or disassembly fees, no stair fees and no transportation surcharges.
What happens if something gets damaged during the move?
Every move includes No Worries Damage Coverage of up to $2,000 per move to repair, replace or provide a cash settlement for the market value of a damaged item. Particle board furniture and boxes packed by the owner are limited to the state minimum of 60 cents per pound, and the coverage applies to damaged items rather than missing ones.
Will my movers actually show up on time?
Einstein guarantees an arrival window of 2 hours or less. If the crew cannot make it within the window that was arranged, the on-time guarantee means Einstein immediately starts discounting money off your final bill, and the longer you wait the larger the discount becomes.
Who will be handling my belongings?
Moves are handled by Einstein's own in-house movers, not contract workers, and every mover is background-checked. Before move day you are sent photos and bios of your crew so you know who is coming.
What types of moves do you handle in Houston?
The Houston branch handles residential moves, apartment moves, office and commercial moves, full and partial packing, unloading of portable containers and rental trucks, and long distance moves anywhere in Texas. Einstein does not offer loading services for rental trucks or PODs, since it has no control over how those are transported. Furniture disassembly and reassembly is part of a full-service move.
What payment methods do you accept?
Einstein accepts all major credit cards but does not accept cash or checks. Companies that need to pay by check for an office move can contact the office to confirm a check is acceptable.
How far in advance should I book my move?
Einstein is busiest on weekends, during the summer, and at the end and beginning of each month. If you are moving during one of those times, contact the team as soon as possible and ideally with at least two weeks of advance notice.
