I was looking to have a custom-made wine rack that would fit in my dining room. Working with Tim from Donovan Woodworking and Sawmill Services, he suggested a few options that would complement the colors in the room. We settled on a Oak and Resin wine rack that could actually hang on the wall and save floor space The resin was a deep red color that immediately caught your eye when you walk in the room. The professional wood working that fused with the Resin resulted in a functional wine rack that was also a piece of art. Tim also came on site and personally hung the wine rack on the wall for me.

We needed to have some repair work done on a couple old dressers. Tim at Donovan Woodworking and Sawmill services far exceeded our expectations. We were in a bit of a time crunch to have the work completed Tim juggled his schedule to accommodate us. The work he did was amazing and both pieces look great. On-site sawmill

We mill customer-supplied logs into live edge slabs and custom lumber, including dimensional cutting, bookmatched slabs, and board-foot milling.

Log to finished piece

We can mill a suitable log and later transform that same lumber into a finished table, bench, mantel, or other custom woodworking project.

What does Donovan Woodworking make?
We handcraft live edge epoxy river tables, live edge benches, floating shelves, fireplace mantels, traditional hardwood tables, custom cabinets, wooden grave markers, and other one-of-a-kind custom woodworking projects. We also offer sawmill services.
Do you offer sawmill services?
Yes. We mill customer-supplied logs into live edge slabs and custom lumber, including dimensional lumber cutting, bookmatched slab production, custom cutting, and hourly or board-foot milling. We do not sell lumber; we mill the logs you supply.
Can you make furniture from a tree on my property?
Possibly. The species, log size, condition, internal decay, how the tree is cut, and the intended project all affect whether the wood can be used. Contact us before the log is cut into short sections or removed if you hope to preserve it for woodworking.
Is freshly milled wood ready for furniture?
Usually not. Freshly milled wood contains moisture and generally needs to dry before it can be used for stable furniture. The drying time depends on species, thickness, moisture content, and drying method.
Can I bring my own design or choose the wood?
Yes. Photos, sketches, measurements, and examples all help us understand the style and function you want. We will also discuss available hardwood options and help you select a slab or species that suits your project.
How long does a custom project take?
The timeline depends on the size and complexity of the project, the wood selected, whether the material is ready for use, and the current shop schedule. We can discuss a more accurate timeline once we understand the details.
