What tree services do you offer?
We offer tree pruning, tree preservation, tree planting, consulting arborist services including tree risk assessment, removal of trees which cannot be safely or reasonably retained, soil health improvement, plant health care, stump grinding, wood chips, rope access work, and emergency response. We work in residential and commercial settings.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Conservation Tree Care is fully licensed, bonded, and insured. We are a Washington State registered contractor (CONSETC824C8) and an SDCI/SDOT Registered Tree Service Provider (LIC-TSP-18579). We carry a bond of $12,000, $1,000,000 in general liability coverage, $2,000,000 in professional liability errors and omissions coverage, and $5,000,000 in umbrella liability coverage.
Do you charge for an estimate?
If you have a specific project in mind we typically set up a free 30 minute on site meeting for clients in our core work area (Zones 1-4 on the service area map), then email a quote with fixed prices for performing the work. If you want general tree advice we offer a consultation with a full hour scheduled on site, and we typically require a consultation for new clients outside the core service area (Zones 5-9).
Can you help after a storm or a tree failure?
Yes. If the emergency involves a threat to life call 911 first, and never approach downed power lines. Once everyone is safe we can help with cleanup, using advanced rigging techniques or a mobile crane when a broken tree needs to be stabilized for safe removal. During storms we maintain a waitlist which gives priority to return customers.
How do you approach tree removal?
In keeping with our environmental mission we do not remove healthy trees that are not causing problems. We do remove unhealthy or hazardous trees, invasive species, trees planted in inappropriate locations, and trees which cannot be retained due to development. We work to minimize impact during the removal process and strongly encourage replanting.
Who will be working on my trees?
Our team is led by Founder and President Allen Taylor, an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist and Registered Consulting Arborist, and includes ISA Certified Arborists, an ISA Certified Tree Climber, and SPRAT rope access technicians. All pruning work is overseen by an ISA Certified Arborist or Master Arborist.
How do I pay for the work?
Once the services are completed we email an invoice which can be paid by check, ACH transfer (preferred), or credit card. Invoices are typically due within 30 days, and other arrangements can be made if needed.
