Owner Roberto Villalobos started in the tree industry in 2006 as a groundsman and stump grinder, began climbing six months later, and spent years working for large tree care companies, mostly in California, before starting Oakland Tree Service in July 2023. The company brings over 20 years of tree industry experience to tree pruning, tree removal, tree health evaluation, and tree care consultation for residential and commercial properties. Instead of working from a pre-made work order, the team will climb a tree when necessary to evaluate its health conditions and find defects or damage that cannot be identified from the ground, then build a precise work order around that tree's needs and your budget. With proper pruning practice a tree may not need pruning every year, and can often go two to three years, or in some cases up to five, before it needs pruning again, depending on species, health conditions, and weather. Commercial accounts can use the tree tag ID program, which puts a unique numbered tag on every tree on the property and adds it to a property map with the species name and health condition, followed by a yearly walk with the property manager so only the trees that need pruning go on the work order. Estimates are free, the company uses eco-friendly products and methods whenever possible, and Roberto stays in constant communication from the first interaction until the job is done and you are completely satisfied.
