CityGreen Gardening
CityGreen Gardening is a Philadelphia gardening and landscape company built around ecological, low-impact gardens. The team manages the horticultural needs and requirements for numerous non-profits and residential clients in the Philadelphia area, from sprawling urban meadows to tight South Philly back yards. Work ranges from a completely new garden design to a simple spring cleanup, and covers rain gardens, urban meadows planted from seed, liner pots or plugs, tree and shrub care, landscape management for block-sized campuses and residential properties, landscape design plans in 2D plan view, and rooftop and small garden micro irrigation. Native plants are the go-to here, planted with the pollinators and other critters that depend on them in mind. About 60% of CityGreen's work is non-profit, and the company has done the planting design for four rain gardens in North and South Philly and maintained them for close to ten years.

FAQs
What kind of gardens does CityGreen Gardening create?
CityGreen focuses on ecological, low-impact gardens. That runs from sprawling urban meadows to tight South Philly back yards, whether you want a completely new design or just a simple spring cleanup.
Do you work with native plants?
Yes. Native plants are our go-to. We plant with the pollinators and other critters that depend on them in mind, and we follow the newer ecological principles that guide how those plants go in the ground.
Do you design rain gardens?
Yes. We have done the planting design for four rain gardens in North and South Philly and have maintained them for close to ten years. Rain gardens vary greatly, from little more than swales filled with boggy marsh plants to highly engineered systems with engineered soils and street-grade water overflow.
Do you handle tree care?
We take care of trees and shrubs from the ground. We do not climb, but we can refer you to a capable arborist when a job calls for it.
Do you take on non-profit and larger campus properties?
Yes. About 60% of our work is non-profit, from subsidized housing companies who passionately believe in green space to a Catholic school and several Community Development Corporations. We also manage numerous block-sized campuses as well as residential properties.
What areas do you serve?
We are located at Roxborough Ave and Freeland Ave in Philadelphia and work throughout the Philadelphia area. Most of our residential work has been in Philadelphia, though we have had a number of suburban projects.
