Blue Wing Chiropractic is a family focused chiropractic practice at 2100 Main Street, Suite 202 in Longmont, Colorado. Dr. Jonathan Maczko and Dr. Kendra Fitzke met as students at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa, graduated in 2018, practiced in Nebraska for a few years, then moved west and opened Blue Wing Chiropractic in 2021. They are a husband and wife team who treat patients from a few hours old to those over 100, with a special emphasis on pregnancy and pediatrics. Both doctors are certified in the Webster Technique and are Pediatric Experience (PX) providers with post graduate education in prenatal and pediatric chiropractic. Dr. Kendra concentrates on prenatal and infant care, while Dr. Jonathan focuses on kids from toddler age through high school. Care is tailored rather than templated: the practice states that four members of the same family would receive four different care plans. The adjusting toolbelt includes Activator Method, Diversified, Flexion Distraction, Gonstead, Kinesio Taping, Thompson Drop and the Webster Technique, plus soft tissue work such as electrical stimulation and light massage. CLA INSiGHT scans, which use no radiation, show how the nervous system is functioning so care can be targeted, and digital X-rays are taken when needed. Massage therapy is available in house with Jessica Knobel, LMT, who brings over 10 years of experience and offers deep tissue, sports recovery, prenatal and lymphatic work in 60 or 90 minute sessions. The office is warm and kid friendly, with natural light, hardwood floors and couches in the waiting area.

Who are the chiropractors at Blue Wing Chiropractic?
Dr. Jonathan Maczko and Dr. Kendra Fitzke are a husband and wife team who both graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa in 2018. They practiced in Nebraska before moving to Colorado and opening Blue Wing Chiropractic in 2021. Both are certified in the Webster Technique and are Pediatric Experience (PX) providers. What happens at my first visit?
The first visit lasts 30 to 45 minutes and you are asked to wear comfortable clothing. Front office staff greet you and show you around the office, then you meet one on one with your doctor to go over your health history. Examinations and CLA INSiGHT scans are performed, plus digital X-rays if needed. Some manual therapy may be done that day to establish a baseline, and your first adjustment happens at your next appointment.
When is the second visit and what does it cover?
The second visit is generally within 24 to 48 hours of the first. Your exam and X-ray results are reviewed with you on a big screen TV so you can follow along, and your personalized care plan is explained. You receive your first adjustment at this visit, along with any soft tissue treatment you may need such as electrical stimulation or light massage.
Do you treat pregnant patients and children?
Yes. Both doctors are certified in the Webster Technique for prenatal care and have received extensive post graduate education in pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic. Dr. Kendra has a special passion for prenatal and infant care, and Dr. Jonathan specializes in helping older kids from toddler age through high school. Special tables and pillows keep prenatal adjustments comfortable at every stage.
What chiropractic techniques do you use?
The practice offers a variety of adjusting techniques so care can be matched to each person. The toolbelt includes Activator Method, Diversified, Flexion Distraction, Gonstead, Kinesio Taping, Thompson Drop and the Webster Technique. Soft tissue work to mobilize the tissues before an adjustment is also offered, which may include electric stimulation and light massage.
