Ben The Mover Guy
Ben The Mover Guy LLC is a Philadelphia moving company that Ben started as an LLC in April 2017, backed by more than eight years of his own industry experience and a carefully selected team of industry veterans. The crew handles residential and office moves, packing and unpacking, furniture pickup and delivery, loading and unloading of storage units and pods, dump runs, and long distance moves out of the Philadelphia area, from a single item up to a five bedroom house. A fleet of five trucks plus a sprinter van named Xena covers everything from the narrower streets of South Philly, North Philly and Center City to full household relocations, and labor only service is available when a vehicle is not needed. Most local jobs, meaning anything within 150 miles of South Philly, are billed at a time based rate with a two hour minimum and a flat travel fee that covers the commute to and from the job. Ben The Mover Guy LLC is fully licensed and insured for local and interstate transportation of goods under PUC #A-8925253 and DOT #2857354, and every client selects a level of valuation coverage in writing before the move begins.

FAQs
What counts as a local move?
A local job is anything within 150 miles of South Philly. Ben The Mover Guy also handles long distance moves out of the Philadelphia area, including runs to New York and Atlanta.
How are local moves priced?
Most local jobs are charged at a time based rate with a two hour minimum, plus a flat travel fee that covers the commute to and from the job. Past the two hour minimum, additional time is billed in 15 minute increments of the hourly rate. There is an extra charge for weekends and for jobs involving more than two consecutive flights of stairs, which does not include basements or front steps.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Ben The Mover Guy LLC is fully licensed and insured for local and interstate transportation of goods, operating under PUC #A-8925253 and DOT #2857354. If your building needs a certificate of insurance, let the team know ahead of time so it can be issued in advance.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, Venmo, Cash App and all major credit and debit cards are accepted. Checks are not accepted. Cash carries no fee, while Venmo, Cash App, credit and debit payments carry a 4% fee.
How are my belongings covered?
Two levels of coverage are offered and every client selects one in writing before the move starts. Basic coverage, also known as released valuation, is included in every move at no additional cost and limits liability to $0.60 per pound per article, an industry standard rate set by the Pennsylvania Utility Commission. Premium coverage uses deductible-based plans purchased in-house, starting at $200 for cargo with a value of $15,000.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. Small deliveries and one man jobs are how Ben The Mover Guy started. The sprinter van is well suited to small moves and furniture delivery, and labor only service is available when no vehicle is needed.
How long have you been in business?
Ben started Ben the Mover Guy in Philadelphia as an LLC in April 2017. Before that he worked for white glove delivery and courier services as well as large scale household moving services, and he brings more than eight years of industry experience of his own.
