We are Quality Contractor Services, an electrical contractor based in Gold Canyon, Arizona, specializing in the one system most homes depend on and few electricians fully understand: the electrical panel. We have been doing panel changes since 1978, and that long history matters. Older homes carry issues like aluminum wiring, two-wire systems, shared neutrals, and discontinued breakers that have lost their UL listing. Our founder and Master Electrician, Phil Kroff, knows how these systems were built decades ago and exactly what code requires today. Our core services include 200-amp and 400-amp panel upgrades, replacement of hazardous obsolete panels such as Zinsco, Federal Pacific (FPE), and Challenger, EV charger installations, meter stacks and modular solutions for multi-family properties, and emergency panel changes when a panel fails completely. We handle load calculations, permitting, utility coordination, and city inspection sign-off so you do not have to. We serve homeowners, property managers, and businesses across the Phoenix metro and beyond, including Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Apache Junction, Tucson, and many more Arizona communities. We are a family-owned business licensed under ROC #147434, and we guarantee to beat any licensed contractor's bid for the same scope of work. Whether you are upgrading for new appliances and HVAC, preparing for an EV charger, or replacing a panel your insurer has flagged, we bring four decades of panel experience to every job. Phil and his son did an excellent job with a 100>200 amp panel upgrade on our older home. Phil made time for us right away and quoted a very fair price. He warned us that permits might take a while as they required approval from the phx historic office, but was able to get the city to expedite them and had us scheduled with APS inside of only two weeks. He provided excellent communication as well, letting us know a week in advance when they would start work and what to expect. They were on time, and had the box replaced with quality Siemens equipment (including a whole home surge protector) after only 6 hours. They also ran a new circuit to another part of the house for a spa/mini-split system so everything would be properly wired and meet code requirements. Very impressed with their work, wish we found them sooner - thank you!

Found this company after a recommendation from Reddit of all places. Got a quote after sending pics within 24 hours. Installed 2 weeks later. Very easy and professional. They did a great job. Highly recommended.

I had a 200 amp service panel replaced. I obtained several bids and Quality Contractor Services was the low bid. But there was nothing low about the quality of work or the experience. They installed a high quality Siemens panel. SRP cut off the power around 7 am and the electrician was done and the power back around 1 pm. I highly recommend QCS. As the website says, when you call, the owner Phil answers the phone. This is true- how rare is that!

Phil and his team did a great job replacing our electrical panel. The original panel was a rat’s nest to say the least but Phil’s crew professionally and systematically did the work necessary to give us a clean new panel and system. Phil was very communicative throughout the entire process. I highly recommend him and his company!

Which panels are considered dangerous?
Older Zinsco (also sold as GTE-Sylvania), Federal Pacific (FPE and Stab-Lok), and Challenger panels are known fire hazards. Their breakers can fail to trip during an overload, and many insurers now refuse to cover homes with Zinsco or FPE panels. We replace these with modern, code-compliant equipment.
