FAQs
How often should I see a dentist?
American Dental Association guidelines recommend visiting a dentist at least twice a year for a check-up and professional cleaning, and Ansley Midtown Dental recommends a minimum of two visits per year.
What happens at my first visit?
Your initial exam will last approximately one hour. It includes compiling your medical and dental history, an examination of your teeth and gums, an oral cancer screening, x-rays as needed and a TMJ evaluation. In most cases your teeth are also cleaned on this visit, and you receive an evaluation outlining existing dental problems and proposed treatment along with oral hygiene instructions.
Do you take my dental insurance?
Ansley Midtown Dental is in network with 40 dental plans including Aetna PPO, MetLife PDP Plus, United Healthcare PPO, Guardian PPO and Sun Life PPO, and works out of network with plans such as Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Cigna PPO and Delta Dental PPO and Premier. Delta Dental, Cigna and Principal policies now reimburse patients directly, so for those policies payment is due in full on the day of service. The office will submit all insurance claims for you.
What should I do if I have a dental emergency?
Contact the office immediately at (404) 873-2957. The practice will be glad to work you in to its schedule if you have a dental emergency during regular business hours, and after-hours contact information is available through the office.
What payment methods do you accept?
The office accepts cash, checks and all major credit cards, and offers a low interest rate payment plan. If you need a special arrangement, the staff will review payment options with you before treatment, and your treatment plan includes a breakdown of all applicable fees with estimated costs given before treatment is administered.
What does the Dental Membership Plan include?
It includes cleanings, exams and routine x-rays at no additional cost plus exclusive discounts off other procedures like fillings, with no deductibles, waiting periods, annual maximums, denials of claims or pre-approvals. Benefits start immediately and membership runs for 12 months with an auto renewal feature, which you can opt out of at any time from the Member Portal. You will receive an email reminder 45 days prior to the renewal date. It cannot be combined with insurance or other offers and does not cover cosmetic treatments, oral surgery, orthodontics or specialist procedures.
Do you offer teeth whitening and cosmetic treatment?
Yes. Take-home and in-office whitening options are available, with an in-office bleaching appointment lasting about one and a half to two hours. Porcelain veneers and composite bonding are also offered for gaps, chips, discoloration and misshapen teeth.
Is parking available at the office?
Yes. Complimentary parking is available in the attached parking garage below the building at 222 12th St NE, Atlanta.
