Active Body Chiropractic
Active Body Chiropractic is a South Loop chiropractic practice in Chicago that has combined chiropractic care with specialized soft tissue work since 2002. Dr. Dylan Drynan opened the office after graduating from National College of Chiropractic, choosing South Loop for its growing community of runners and other athletes. It was the first chiropractic clinic in South Loop and the first to offer Active Release Technique in Downtown Chicago, and the practice moved to its current 1600 S. Indiana Ave location in 2012. Care blends precise chiropractic adjustments with deep soft tissue release using Active Release Technique, Graston, dry needling, the McKenzie method, SportsStretch and rehabilitative exercise, alongside clinical massage therapy and GYROTONIC sessions. The team includes chiropractors Dr. Dylan Drynan, Dr. Alexandria Nealy and Dr. Gerardo Moncada plus licensed massage therapists and a GYROTONIC instructor. The approach is deliberately short and transparent: treatment regimens are typically four to six treatments for an area, self-pay prices are published up front, and the office does not sell large therapy packages or require lengthy care plans. The practice is in-network with BCBS PPO, accepts Medicare for the limited services it covers, and can submit claims to other carriers.

FAQs
What treatment methods do the chiropractors use?
Alongside chiropractic adjustments, the doctors use Active Release Technique, Graston and other instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, dry needling, selective functional movement assessment, kinesiology taping with Rock Tape, the McKenzie technique, Reflexive Performance Reset and rehabilitative exercises.
How many visits will I need?
The practice says its combined treatment method usually generates fast results. Patients typically see changes in a couple of visits, and treatment regimens are usually four to six treatments for an area. The office does not try to sell patients on huge treatment packages.
What happens at my first visit?
Your chiropractor reviews your history and performs orthopedic tests, functional tests and functional movement analysis, then explains the anatomy behind your pain using 3D software and anatomical models. Care begins at that visit with a few therapies. The first visit lasts about one hour of one-on-one time, and later visits are usually about thirty minutes of hands-on care.
Do you accept insurance?
The office accepts medical insurance and is in-network with BCBS PPO. For Aetna, Cigna, Humana and United Healthcare it can submit claims electronically, and for other carriers it provides a superbill you submit to your out-of-network insurance, with payment required up front. Medicare is accepted but covers only limited services.
What does a visit cost if I self pay?
Self-pay patients pay at time of service. A new patient visit with the doctors is $175 and a regular visit is $90. Massage therapy and GYROTONIC are $110 per hour, $60 per half hour, or $50 for a half hour added on to another service. Packages are available at further reduced prices.
Do I have to keep a credit card on file?
Yes. All patients are required to provide a credit card to be kept on file, regardless of insurance or visit type. Payments run through a HIPAA-compliant practice management system, card details are stored in a PCI compliant environment, and office personnel do not have access to the card.
What is your cancellation policy?
You receive a 48 hour email reminder plus 24 hour and 2 hour text reminders. A cancellation is late if made under 12 hours ahead online, under 24 hours ahead by phone, text or email, or under 48 hours ahead for extended time appointments. Every patient gets at least one free unquestioned miss per year. After that, a late cancellation may be charged at 50 percent of the self-pay cost of a visit, and a complete no show with no contact is charged at 100 percent.
