Emerald City Spinal Care
Emerald City Spinal Care is a chiropractic practice on East Madison Street in Seattle, founded by Dr. Christine Zapata, who has been practicing in Seattle since 2009. The office provides specialized chiropractic care and therapeutic massage for people of all ages, with a focus on the Blair Upper Cervical technique, which uses three dimensional x-ray studies of the neck along with heat-sensitive instrumentation and neurological tests to identify spinal misalignments. Adjustments are gentle and specific, made without the popping and cracking many people associate with chiropractic treatment. The practice sees patients for neck pain, back pain, headaches and migraines, auto injuries and whiplash, work injuries, sciatica, disc injury, shoulder pain, carpal tunnel, vertigo and scoliosis, and also offers pregnancy, pediatric and wellness care. New patients can book a complimentary consultation with no obligation, and the office accepts a range of insurance plans including Aetna, Premera, Regence, Washington State Labor and Industries and Personal Injury Protection.

FAQs
What chiropractic technique do you use?
Emerald City Spinal Care uses the Blair Upper Cervical technique, which consists of one of the most advanced three dimensional x-ray studies of the neck in all of chiropractic and medicine. The technique also uses heat-sensitive instrumentation, neurological tests and other means for determining when a spinal misalignment is present.
Will the adjustment involve popping or cracking?
No. What the practice describes as unique about its care is the ability to identify the most influential area of the spine and make gentle, specific corrections without the popping and cracking that many people associate with chiropractic treatment.
Do you offer a consultation for new patients?
Yes. New patients can receive a complimentary consultation, and the practice states there is no obligation. The goal is to assess whether the office can help before you commit financially to additional treatment.
What insurance do you accept?
The office accepts Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Blue Cross Blue Shield, First Choice Health (Kaiser Option PPO plans), Lifewise, Premera, Regence, Washington State Labor and Industries (L&I) and Personal Injury Protection (PIP). A detailed reimbursement receipt, also known as a superbill, is provided for out-of-network plans.
What are your office hours?
The office is open Monday 9:00am to 6:00pm, Tuesday 2:00pm to 6:00pm, Wednesday 9:00am to 6:00pm and Thursday 2:00pm to 6:00pm, and is closed Friday through Sunday. Massage is by appointment only.
What conditions do you treat?
The practice sees patients for neck pain, back pain, headaches and migraines, auto injuries and whiplash, work injuries, sciatica, disc injury, shoulder pain, arm and leg pain, carpal tunnel, vertigo and scoliosis, and also provides pregnancy, pediatric and wellness care.
Do you offer massage as well as chiropractic?
Yes. Licensed massage therapists Gabriela Emond and Roger Vazquez provide therapeutic massage at the office, by appointment only, alongside Dr. Zapata's chiropractic care.
Where are you located and is there parking?
