Regular Cleaning is a recurring maintenance service for weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly visits. It covers routine upkeep of the most-used rooms and surfaces. The home cleaning checklist for a typical visit includes:
Kitchen: counters, stovetop, appliance exteriors, sink, microwave inside and out, floors
Bathrooms: toilets disinfected, showers and tubs scrubbed, mirrors, counters, floors mopped
Bedrooms and living areas: dusting, vacuuming, trash emptied
General: light switches, door handles, accessible cobwebs, visible clutter straightened
Bed making and sheet changing are not included by default. They can be added during booking as optional services for clients who prefer that hotel-style touch.
Also not included by default: inside oven, inside fridge, inside cabinets, baseboards, blinds, interior windows, and a few other detail areas. These are available as optional add-ons at booking for Deep Cleaning, Move-Out Cleaning, and Move-In Cleaning. The add-ons available for your home are shown during quote process.
Should I tidy up before the cleaning professional arrives?
A small amount of tidying helps a lot. Cleaning is not an organizing or decluttering service, and clear, open spaces let the visit focus on cleaning rather than working around personal items.
Helpful before the visit:
Clear countertops in kitchens and bathrooms
Pick up clothing, toys, and personal items from floors
Secure or store valuables and important documents
Empty the refrigerator if inside fridge cleaning is part of the visit
Clear dishes from the sink
Close off any rooms that should be skipped
Secure or crate pets that aren't comfortable with strangers
Confirm entry access and that utilities are on
Not necessary: heavy pre-cleaning. Visible dust, surface buildup, and dirty floors are exactly what the cleaning professional is there to handle - and an occasional pillow on the floor, a toy, or a t-shirt is no problem at all.

Should counters, floors, and surfaces be cleared of personal items?
Yes, as much as possible. Surfaces are cleaned where they are clear. Personal items are moved minimally during cleaning and are not organized, sorted, or put away, since every household arranges belongings differently. Heavily covered counters, floors, or shelves can only be cleaned around the items on them. The more cleared the space, the more complete the cleaning.
Everyday items are expected - an occasional pillow on the floor, a toy, or a t-shirt is no problem at all. However, cleaning is not an organizing or decluttering service: when clothing, toys, and belongings cover large areas of a room, floors and surfaces in those areas can only be partially cleaned, and picking up and sorting belongings is not something that can be done on a client's behalf.
Should the refrigerator be emptied before cleaning?
Yes. Removing and disposing of food is not part of any cleaning service, including the inside fridge add-on, because decisions about what to keep or discard can't be safely made on a client's behalf. For move-out, move-in, and deep cleaning, the refrigerator should be fully emptied before the visit so every shelf, drawer, and surface can be cleaned. If food items remain, surfaces are cleaned around them and results will be limited to the accessible areas.
What about dishes in the sink?
A sink holding dishes can't be scrubbed underneath them, so dishes should be cleared before the visit. For a fully reset kitchen, the dishwashing add-on can be selected at booking: the dishwasher is loaded and started, and remaining dishes are hand-washed and placed on the countertop.
Do utilities need to be on?
Yes. Working electricity, hot water, and reasonable indoor temperature are required for the cleaning to be completed. This matters most for vacant homes before a move-out or move-in cleaning, where utilities are sometimes shut off early. If utilities are off when the team arrives, the visit may need to be rescheduled.
Do I have to stay home during the cleaning?
Cleaning professionals truly appreciate your efforts to make yourself available by showing around your home and answering any home-related questions.
Most homeowners who work from home leave to run errands or simply walk in the park to avoid the vacuum noise or be out of the way to give the space to the Cleaner.
Can I leave a key?

Unexpected and short-notice cancellations can be challenging to manage and often result in unfilled appointment slots, leading to significant downtime for the cleaners and negatively impacting their income.
To promote fairness and ensure sustainable service, cancellations made within 72 hours of your scheduled booking will incur a full-service fee.
How do I get the cleaning professional into my home if I am not there?
Most clients are not home during cleaning visits. Common entry methods include:
Smart lock codes: A temporary or one-time-use code for the cleaning professional, easily added or removed
Garage door codes: Sharing the keypad code, with the interior garage door left unlocked during the cleaning window
Lockbox: A small lockbox holding a house key, placed near the entrance, with the combination shared securely
Doorman or concierge: For condos and apartment buildings, leaving instructions with front desk staff is the simplest approach

Hiding a key outside in a common spot like under a mat or in a planter is not recommended for security reasons. Building access details should be shared at booking.
Is parking required for the cleaning visit?
Parking is not required, but it is genuinely helpful when a spot is available close to the cleaning project address. Cleaning professionals arrive with supplies and equipment, and convenient parking saves time and effort, especially during longer projects.
