Vida Chiropractic is a Hialeah chiropractic office on W 84th Street co-founded by Dr. Danay Gonzalez and Dr. Milagros Alvarez. Both doctors were born in Havana, Cuba and came to the United States with their families in 1999. They met at Barbara Goleman Senior High School in Miami Lakes, each earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences at Florida International University, and both went on to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida. After working as associate doctors, they joined forces to open their own practice with the goal of providing honest and reliable service. The office treats vertebral subluxations with a range of adjusting techniques including Thompson, Activator, Arthrostim, Decompression, Diversified and Flexion Distraction, and backs those adjustments with physiotherapy, non-surgical spinal decompression, shockwave therapy and massage therapy. Digital x-rays are taken in the office, and the first visit covers a consultation and a complete chiropractic examination, with a report of findings given on the second visit before a treatment plan is recommended. Auto accident and personal injury patients are a major focus, supported by a medical and attorney referral network, walk-in availability and transportation if needed. The practice also performs school physical exams on Florida's DH 3040 form and DOT physicals for commercial drivers. What happens on my first visit?
The receptionist welcomes you and has you fill out patient forms covering general information about you and your condition. You then have a consultation with one of the doctors about your health concerns and receive a complete chiropractic examination. Your condition may also call for digital x-rays so the doctors can fully evaluate you. If you have health insurance, bring the card and give it to the receptionist.
What happens on the second visit?
One of the doctors gives you a report of findings that answers three questions: can we help you, what is recommended to get better, and how much will it cost. After reviewing your history, your goals, your spine and any x-rays or tests, the doctor discusses recommendations with you. If your condition requires care from other providers, the doctor will tell you. Treatment plans may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, soft tissue therapies, acupuncture and spinal decompression, and you leave with a wellness program to follow at home.
What treatments does the office offer besides adjustments?
Alongside chiropractic adjustments the office provides physiotherapy using ultrasound, electrical stimulation, cryotherapy, heat therapy, neuromuscular reeducation, therapeutic exercises, mechanical traction and instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation. Non-surgical spinal decompression is used for herniated discs, sciatica and lower back pain, shockwave therapy treats chronic tendon and muscle conditions such as plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow, and massage therapy is also available.
I was hurt in a car accident. Can you help?
Yes. Florida is a no-fault state, which means you are entitled to medical care whether you were the victim or at fault, and whether you were the driver or a passenger. The practice notes that you only have 14 days to seek medical care before you lose your benefits. Immigration status does not matter, walk-ins are welcome, transportation is available if needed, and attorney representation is offered from day one.
Do you accept insurance and what payment options are there?
Many insurance plans are accepted, including auto accident, personal injury and most health insurance. Because coverage varies widely, the office verifies your insurance and explains your benefits before treatment at no charge on your first visit. Flexible cash plans are available for patients without health insurance or with limited chiropractic benefits, and customized family plans can be created. The office accepts cash, checks made out to Vida Chiropractic Miami, and most major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and CareCredit.
Do you perform school and DOT physicals?
Yes. Students entering a Florida school need a record of a physical examination completed within the past 12 months, and the office documents this on Florida's standardized School Entry Exam form DH 3040. For commercial drivers, the doctors are certified to perform DOT compliant physicals. Bring your driver's license, fill out a brief health history questionnaire, and the doctor reviews it and performs vision, urine and other physical assessments. Walk-ins are welcome, all needed forms are supplied, and you get your wallet card and certificate the same day.

The office is open Monday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
