The Lawn Barbers is a locally owned and operated lawn care and garden maintenance company that has served Boulder, Colorado and the Front Range for 15 years. The company provides a complete range of outdoor maintenance work, including garden and landscape maintenance, mowing and trimming, hedge and shrub trimming and shaping, aeration, fertilization, weed control, and spring and fall cleanup. Mowing is done to each customer's specifications, with clippings bagged or mulched by preference, and trimming covers edges plus interior borders such as flower beds and trees. Fertilization uses a pet and kid friendly product that is free of pesticides, herbicides and toxins, applied once a season in spring, summer and fall, while weeding is done by hand so the garden stays free of both weeds and herbicides. Seasonal cleanup covers leaf raking and collection, garden bed cleanout and winterization, and bush trimming, and a fire mitigation service weed whacks tall grass on any terrain, cuts back ground-level brush, prunes first-story tree branches to reduce ladder fuels, and removes small trees to create defensible space. Owner and founder Greg Dawson began mowing Boulder-area lawns in the late 1990s to raise tuition for the University of Colorado, and every new crew member goes through a thorough paid training program. The Lawn Barbers runs clean branded vehicles with professional uniformed personnel, recycles and composts all yard material locally through Eco-Cycle, offers all-organic services on request, powers its offices and facilities with Colorado wind energy and off-grid solar, and bids each property separately so estimates are free.
