Mambo Movers
Mambo Movers is a properly licensed and insured moving company based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Moves are handled with a lift gate moving van, tons of blankets, moving straps, dollies, hand trucks, and the tools to take apart and reassemble the most stubborn pieces of furniture, and smaller trucks are on hand for streets too narrow for the 26 foot truck. Work is charged by the hour with a two hour minimum and prorated after that instead of rounded up to the next hour, with rates depending on the floors you are moving from and to. Packing is available with boxes, all kinds of packing materials, and a crew of experienced packers, and hoisting furniture through a window or onto an upper floor deck carries no additional charge. Long distance jobs reach New York and Washington, D.C. in a day and go as far as California and Washington State. The staff is hand-picked from the music and art scene of Philadelphia, and pianos are the one thing Mambo does not move.

FAQs
How do you charge for a move?
Mambo Movers charge by the hour with a two hour minimum. Anything past two hours is prorated, so a job that took 3 hours and 20 minutes is billed as 3 hours and 20 minutes rather than rounded up to the next hour. Rates depend on the floor you are moving from and to. Call (215) 670-9535 to inquire about rates.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, certified check, and money order are accepted. Personal checks and credit cards are not accepted.
Do you move pianos?
No. Piano moving equipment is not part of the Mambo assortment, and insurance is the dominant factor behind that policy. Harpsichords, on the other hand, are proudly moved.
How does travel time work?
Travel time is the total time it takes to reach your site from the Mambo office and to return to the office after the move, charged at a flat rate. The move itself, from your current place to your new place, is charged by the hour. There is no travel time if you are in Center City.
Do you handle long distance moves?
Yes. Mambo is based in Philadelphia and can go far beyond the limits of the city. New York and Washington, D.C. are semi-long distance moves that take one day, Boston takes two days, and Chicago takes three. The trucks go as far as California and Washington State.
Can you hoist furniture through a window?
Yes. Mambo has all the necessary hoisting equipment and there is no additional charge for it. Furniture can go up through a window or onto an upper floor deck with a sliding door, so please measure your windows before the move. Some pieces are too big, and in cases where hoisting is unsafe the movers may decide not to hoist that piece.
Can you pack for me?
Yes. Mambo provides boxes, all kinds of packing materials, and a crew of experienced packers. If you pack yourself, use small boxes for heavy items such as books, tape the lid and the bottom of every box, and mark anything fragile.
What is your cancellation policy?
Mambo requires ten working days notice prior to the date of your move if you need to cancel or reschedule, otherwise a 2 hour minimum charge applies. Dates can also be booked tentatively and confirmed later.
