I thought the pricing was very reasonable and they did a good amount of work. They trimmed a large tree in the back yard. They sent out four guys to complete the work and they had it done in a few hours. They arrived on time and did a nice job trimming the tree. They did a great job with the cleanup

My wife and hired them to trim and review the health of our maple tree, as well as trim our arborvitae. They did an excellent job, taking great care not to damage the garden underneath the maple tree, arrived on time, and gave us great advice on both the maple and the arborvitae. I recommend.
Matt C
Very pleased with the work. The trees look great and the work was reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend them to others.

While scheduling was a little difficult due to the challenge of using a crane, the crew did an excellent job cutting down a very large tree only 4 feet from my house on two sides. They cleaned up after themselves and were very courteous. I would use them again.
Erin D
I was happy with the work. They did an immaculate job; not a single maple leaf was left anywhere when they were done.

Jeff and his team are great! The pruned and took care of the 10-12 trees around our house in NE Portland. Then when one of the trees fell ill they came out to take a look and advise us on what was wrong with it and what would be the best tree to replace it with. Great company!!

We’ve been using the company’s services for approximately six years, and they really know what they’re doing when it comes to trees. Furthermore, their website offers a multitude of resources on how to garden with and care for trees, and it’s very easy to communicate with them about any issue.

Dealing with Urban Forest Pro from the beginning to the end was painless and professional. Quick responses and kept appointments were greatly appreciated. The scope of work was done professionally and the price was very fair.

They pruned a very large maple tree. The work was completed and all debris removed. They followed up two weeks later to make sure we were happy with the job.

Everything went very well. They were highly knowledgeable and really knew how to approach the situation. In fact, they actually had to climb up into the trees to do the trimming, and they managed to do a great job without leaving a mess.

Urban Forest Pro did a great job pruning our trees and reviving a wily pear tree in our backyard. Threw in a nice package deal for multiple trees. The crew was efficient, communicative and did an awesome job. Thanks, guys!

Everything went very well, and we would definitely use their services again. The company was great about communicating some scheduling problems, they were happy to accommodate our request for some touch up work, and they did a great job without leaving a mess.
Most if not all mature trees in our urban environment need regular pruning to maintain their health. Trees should be pruned every 2-7 years depending on many factors. Our arborist can estimate the last time a tree was pruned and recommend a pruning schedule.
How often do my trees need to be pruned?
Most commonly trees should be pruned every 3-4 years but this could be as much as every year if there are special circumstances or as much as 7 years depending on the type of tree.
My trees have been topped or mis-maintenanced can you fix them?
No, we can not undo what has already been done. Your tree will never be as beautiful as it would have been, but we can, over a period of years, reverse some of the damage and return your tree to health and viability.
I hate my neighbor's tree what can I do?
Not much. Your best bet is to work with your neighbor to come to a compromise. You could offer to pay half of the costs or get the opinion of an arborist in regard what should be done with the tree. What you should not do is go ahead and prune or remove the tree even if it is on your property. Legal or not (we are not lawyers) this could lead to an expensive legal battle. We can often help Portland neighbors come to a tree cutting compromise, but as a policy we do not do work where neighbors are in disagreement.
My neighbor's tree is threatening my property what can I do?
If your neighbor's tree is truly a threat we still recommend you try and work it out with them. There are in this case, a few things you can do to force their hand. One is bring the tree to the attention of the city by submitting an arborist report on the tree. In certain cases they can order it removed. You can also report the tree to their home owners' insurance company or HOA and that may force them to have it taken care of. But we cannot stress enough, how much better things work out in the end, when you can come to an agreement with your neighbor.
What tree would be best to plant in my yard?
We highly recommend that you call a professional tree planting arborist to help you make a decision about what tree to plant and where. Our arborists educate homeowners about tree care, evaluate site conditions, and provide species recommendation reports based on your hardiness zone and specific landscape needs. The average life span of a tree in Portland is approx. 10 years. That is often caused by the wrong tree being planted in the wrong location. The increased cost to have the tree purchased and planted through an arborist is minimal, but the rewards are great. Proper tree selection can increase property value, provide shade coverage, enhance privacy screening, and improve air quality for years to come. If you are going to do your own planting make sure you do your research on the tree species and variety you will be using. You should estimate the future height of the tree at the top of the range because of the favorable growing environment in Oregon. Also, take into account the maintenance required to care for the tree. Some trees are higher maintenance than other trees. If you are planting a street tree check with your city for an approved street tree list. Our team can help obtain tree permits and coordinate with HOAs for residents to ensure compliance with local regulations.
I am planting a tree what should I be concerned about?

Additionally, proper planting depth, adequate watering, and ongoing care are essential aspects to ensure the tree's successful growth and health. Key concerns include selecting mature, high-quality specimens, installing proper tree support systems with stakes and root barriers, applying organic soil amendments, and implementing fertilization schedules to cultivate healthy root development.
