We are Jay's Garage, a full-service auto repair shop in the heart of downtown Portland, Oregon. We have been keeping local drivers on the road since 1971, and we take pride in being a family-owned, locally-owned, and veteran-owned business. Our ASE Certified Master Technicians work on all makes and models, so whether you drive a daily commuter, a diesel truck, or a hybrid, you can trust your vehicle to our team. From routine upkeep to complex repairs, we aim to be a dependable alternative to the dealership. Our owner, Miles DeWhitt, has been part of Jay's Garage since 2003 and has led the shop since 2013. He runs it the way it has always been run, with a focus on genuine customer service and expert repair work. We believe every customer should leave happy, knowing that they and their vehicle received the highest level of care. We are located at 734 SE 7th Ave and are open Monday through Friday, with Saturday hours as well. Where are you located and what are your hours?
We are located at 734 SE 7th Ave in downtown Portland, OR 97214. We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays.
What kinds of vehicles and repairs do you handle?
We service all makes and models, including diesel and hybrid vehicles. Our work covers brakes, engine and transmission repair, oil changes, tune-ups, tire services, AC repair, electrical diagnostics, exhaust, emissions, suspension, and general maintenance.
Are your technicians certified?
Yes. Our shop is staffed by ASE Certified Master Technicians from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence, so your vehicle is in trained, capable hands.
What does pricing look like?
Every vehicle and repair is a little different, so we provide a transparent quote after reviewing your vehicle and what it needs. Just reach out and we will walk you through it.
How often should I change my oil?
As a general guideline, every three to six months or every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. We are happy to recommend an interval based on your vehicle and driving habits.
