FAQs
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Move4U is a licensed and insured moving company operating under ILCC MC 220013, and we follow the legal guidelines set by the Illinois Commerce Commission. If your building requires a certificate of insurance, proof of insurance can be provided at no additional charge on request.
Do you charge for a moving estimate?
No. Quotes are free. You can call us or use the online estimate form to request a free quote, and there is an optional inventory list you can fill in so the estimate reflects what you are actually moving.
What moving services do you offer?
We handle local moving, residential and apartment moves, office and business moves, same building moves, and Illinois intrastate moving. We also offer packing and unpacking, boxes and supplies, moving labor, loading and unloading, and furniture moving and rearranging.
Can you disassemble and reassemble my furniture?
Yes. Our movers can disassemble and reassemble furniture and bring all the necessary tools. The crew will work with you to make sure everything is in its proper place before they leave.
How do you charge for a move?
Moves are billed hourly with a two hour minimum on labor, and any additional time is prorated in 15 minute increments. The labor clock starts when the movers arrive at the pick up location and finishes when they are done at the drop off location, and drive time between the two counts as hourly labor time.
How do I pay, and will I get a receipt?
You can pay by cash, Zelle, or credit and debit card, with a 3.5% processing fee on Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. You will receive a copy of the Estimate of Charges and the Bill of Lading for your records.
How far in advance should I book my move?
We work on a first come, first served basis, so book as soon as you know your move out and move in dates. We recommend at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance, though 1 to 2 weeks is usually enough for a weekday move in the middle of the month.
What happens if my move date changes?
Contact the office as soon as you know. We offer free rescheduling based on our availability with at least 72 business hours' notice. Keep in mind that the hourly rate may vary depending on the new date you select.
