How much do movers cost in Chicago?
Rates are $140 per hour for two workers and a truck, $210 per hour for three professionals, and $260 per hour for four movers. Additional time is $60 per extra hour, plus travel time to and from the job site.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes. Born to Move follows a three hour minimum charge policy and never charges less than three hours.
What is included in the hourly rate?
The hourly rate covers everything with no additional charges. That includes the truck, movers, gas, tolls, mileage, and furniture packing and unpacking, plus a certificate of insurance. Blankets and shrink wrap are provided to protect your belongings, and floor runners are used to protect new floors.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. A free visual estimate is available by FaceTime or on site. No deposit is required to schedule a move, there is no cancellation policy, and you can reschedule at any time.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Born to Move is a fully licensed and insured company operating under US DOT 2887241, MC 985934, MDPU 31826, and ILCC #244189. Basic valuation coverage is included as part of the service, and additional insurance at full replacement value is available for a separate fee.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, certified check, and credit or debit card are accepted, with a 3% surcharge on card payments. Personal checks are not accepted and there is no discount for paying cash. For moves out of Illinois, half is due once the truck is loaded and half on unloading.
Can you move a piano?
Yes. Piano moving is $240 as the regular fee, $480 for a piano move in Chicago, and $150 per additional flight of stairs. The team has the equipment for baby grand, grand, spinet, and upright pianos, can crate a piano, and can dismantle a baby grand for safe transport.

Yes. Born to Move can arrive the same day, within a few hours, or the next day depending on your needs, and charges the same hourly rate with no extra fee for emergency moving.
