FAQs
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Tropical Painting is licensed, bonded and insured. We have been a member of the licensing board for the years we have operated in Florida and hold License # 8165.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. Call us at (727) 804-9710 to set up an appointment so we can accurately estimate your next project. Estimates are free and our bids are always highly competitive.
How long have you been in business?
Tropical Painting and Decorating was established in 1975 and moved to Florida in 1987. We are locally owned and operated, and the owners directly supervise each of our crews.
What services do you offer?
We provide residential and commercial exterior and interior painting, along with interior and exterior restoration, tile roof cleaning and painting, pool and patio deck repair and refinishing, exterior carpentry, masonry repairs, and garage and utility floor painting.
What paint do you use?
Every surface receives a minimum of two coats of the highest quality Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore paint. For roofs we use Behr paint made specifically for roofs, because it offers the highest UV protection available.
How do you prepare an exterior before painting?
We cover and protect surfaces, trench below ground level so the entire wall can be sealed, treat mildew and fungus, pressure wash, scrape and prime peeling paint, caulk wall cracks with a 55 year caulk, and seal all surfaces with a bonding agent before painting.
How do you protect my belongings during interior work?
Before any work begins we move and pack personal items, furnishings, equipment and appliances, and we cover and seal all floors, windows and doors. When the job is finished we reinstall draperies, wash windows and vacuum floors so the area is left clean and orderly.
Can you repair rotted or damaged wood instead of replacing it?
Often, yes. Rather than replacing rotted wood, insect damage or other damage, we can excise the affected area and fill it using structural adhesive putty or a wood replacement compound. If damage is too extensive, we have the carpentry expertise to replace the component.
