Sunshine City Dentistry is a dental practice on 1st Avenue North in St. Petersburg, where Dr. Alexa Moccia, Dr. Winnelle Bonilla and their team set out to provide the highest quality, comprehensive dental care in the community with an emphasis on making every patient feel heard, cared for and treated like family. The office covers general dentistry including complete exams, extractions, dentures, partials, bridges and Invisalign, preventative care such as scaling and root planing, laser gum treatment, intra-oral scanning and digital x-rays, and cosmetic work including tooth-colored fillings, crowns, veneers and professional teeth whitening. Implant overdentures, implant crowns and bridges are also restored in house, along with injectable treatments such as Botox for jaw clenching, TMJ pain and headaches, and dermal fillers. Dr. Moccia is always on call for her patients during any type of dental emergency, and the practice runs its own in-house Dental Health Plan for patients without dental insurance.

FAQs
Are you taking new patients?
Yes. New patients are welcome, and our current new patient special is $199 for a comprehensive exam, a full-mouth series of x-rays and a prophylaxis (healthy mouth cleaning), which is regularly $398. Call us at (727) 384-4151 or email office@sunshinecitydentistry.com to get started.
What are your office hours?
We are open Monday and Tuesday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Thursday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and Friday from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The office is closed Saturday and Sunday.

What if I do not have dental insurance?
We offer an in-house Dental Health Plan for both new and existing patients. Most preventive care including cleanings, x-rays and exams is included at 100 percent in our office, and you also receive savings on restorative care such as tooth-colored fillings and crowns, plus savings at select specialist offices for root canal treatment, oral surgery including wisdom teeth removal, and orthodontics including Invisalign. There are no deductibles, no exclusions, no claim forms and no waiting periods, and there is no cap on benefits. Call us at 727-384-4151 for the annual fee and the reductions for each additional family member.
Do you offer Invisalign?
Yes. Dr. Moccia is certified in Invisalign. Invisalign uses clear, comfortable, BPA-free plastic aligners custom designed to your mouth, moving teeth with gentle pressure and composite buttons placed on the teeth. Each aligner is worn 7 to 10 days, for 20 to 22 hours a day.
Who are the dentists?
Dr. Alexa Moccia earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, graduating magna cum laude, and completed her residency at Bay Pines VA Hospital where she earned her AEGD certificate. Dr. Winnelle Bonilla earned a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from NYU College of Dentistry and has 18 years of hands-on practice, and she is fluent in English and Spanish.
What cosmetic treatments do you offer?
We provide tooth-colored cosmetic fillings, dental crowns, porcelain veneers and professional teeth whitening with custom-made bleach trays you take home. We also offer injectables, including Botox for jaw clenching, teeth grinding, TMJ disorder pain, chronic headaches and fine lines, and dermal fillers for lips, cheeks and smile lines.
