FAQs
What kinds of homeowner jobs do you do?
Junk removal, dumpster rental, Grizzly Bags, and small-scale demolition. The most common residential calls are estate cleanouts, move-out cleanouts, pre-listing cleanouts before the property goes on the market, garage and basement cleanouts, and renovation debris (especially kitchen and bath gut work). We don't do regular trash service or hazmat remediation — we're a hauler, not a waste utility.
How fast can you come out?
Same-day if you call before 11 AM and you're within ~45 minutes of either depot — Stamford or West Haven. After 11 AM or on weekends, next-day is standard. For far-NW Litchfield (Cornwall, Salisbury, Sharon, Kent) and East CT past East Lyme, next-day-default is the honest baseline. Phones answered Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM live, AI after-hours and weekends.
How is pricing structured for homeowner jobs?
Junk removal is priced by truck-space used at the end of the job — 13 tiers from $179 (minimum load) to $979 (full truckload). Dumpster rentals are flat by size: $447 / $547 / $647 / $899 for 10 / 15 / 20 / 30-40-yard. Grizzly Bags are one flat $365 — bag, delivery, and collection included. Demolition quotes by walkthrough.
Do you handle items I want to keep but my family member can't anymore?
Yes — that's most of what estate cleanouts and downsizing work looks like. Walk the property with us; you point at what stays. We work around it. Donation-worthy items get routed to vetted CT charities (Goodwill / Habitat ReStore / Salvation Army). The crew is trained to spot obvious valuables (jewelry, cash, documents, photos) and set them aside.
What can't go in your trucks?
Hazardous waste (paint, motor oil, gasoline, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, asbestos), batteries of any kind, biohazardous material, propane tanks (full), medical waste, liquids. CT DEEP runs household hazardous-waste collection days through most municipalities; check your town's recycling schedule. CFC appliances (fridges, freezers, ACs, dehumidifiers) are fine but the refrigerant needs to be removed (or already removed) per EPA rules.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — general liability, commercial auto, licensed in CT and NY. Certificates of insurance available on request — most homeowner work doesn't need them, but property managers and HOAs sometimes ask. Call (203) 219-8855 or email info@grizzlyjunkpros.com.
Do you offer commercial accounts?
Yes — more than half of our work is commercial. There's no separate sign-up or account portal. You call (203) 219-8855 the same way a homeowner would; we set up recurring service or one-off jobs the same way; we bill the same way. The 'account' part is just us knowing your name and your operation when you call.
Can I get a volume discount for running 10+ dumpsters per month?
No. We charge contractors running ten dumpsters a month the same rate as homeowners running one. Our prices are already compressed to honest floors — they're what it costs us to run the truck and dump the load, not a markup we can discount off of. If a hauler is offering you a 'volume discount,' check whether their base rate is just higher to start.
How do I set up recurring service?
Call (203) 219-8855. We don't have a self-serve scheduling portal — recurring service is a phone-call coordination, same as everything else. Tell Lauren or Ashley what cadence you need (weekly Friday swap, biweekly Tuesday cleanout, etc.) and they'll get it on the dispatch schedule. Phones answered Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM live, AI after-hours and weekends, with a callback the next business day.
Can you bill us monthly or net-30?
For repeat commercial customers we work out billing that fits your operation — call (203) 219-8855 to discuss. Standard terms are payment by credit card before delivery for dumpsters and bags, payment on job completion for junk removal. Anything beyond standard is a conversation, not a published policy.
What's the largest commercial job you've handled?
Multi-truckload estate cleanouts, multi-week renovation jobs with rotating dumpsters across multiple units, commercial-tenant turnovers spanning entire office floors. Twelve years and 16,000+ jobs means we've seen most shapes. The honest answer: there's no 'too big' if your site is in our service area — we just stage the right number of cans and the right rotation cadence.
Do you serve out-of-state commercial accounts?
If your job site is in our service area (~1 hour from our Stamford or West Haven yard), yes. Your billing entity location doesn't matter — we work with NY-based GCs, MA-based property management firms, etc., as long as the site we're hauling from is in CT or lower NY. See /service-area for the town-by-town coverage.
Can you provide certificates of insurance for our project files?
Yes — these are routine for commercial work. Tell us at booking that you need a COI (and any specific additional-insured language your project requires) and we'll send it. Most general contractor and property management clients request one; we have the template ready.
Do you work weekends and after-hours for emergency commercial calls?
Phones answered Mon–Fri 8 AM – 4 PM live, AI after-hours and weekends, and a human follows up the next business day. Trucks dispatch Mon–Sat 8 AM – 4 PM, with Saturday limited by when CT transfer stations close. After-hours dispatch only for true emergencies — call to discuss. For most commercial customers, the same-day-before-11-AM cadence covers urgency without needing after-hours work.
