Pueblo West Chiropractic Center is the practice of Dr. David Vik at 171 South Purcell Blvd in Pueblo, Colorado, serving Pueblo West and families across southern Colorado. Dr. Vik grew up in Pueblo, graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Languages, then earned a bachelor's degree in Human Biology in Chicago and graduated from chiropractic school there. He practiced for five years in Harlingen, in the Rio Grande Valley of south Texas, before returning to the Pueblo area in 1997 to be closer to family and serve the surrounding community. His approach, which he calls gravitational postural alignment, is to determine and correct the causes of structural misalignment in the spine, known as subluxation, rather than treating the symptom alone. The office points to more than 20 years of treating thousands of patients and works with each patient to design a specific corrective approach for their lifestyle and ailments instead of settling for temporary relief. Care covers chiropractic adjustments, auto injury and personal injury recovery, sports injuries, pediatric chiropractic, prenatal chiropractic, Standard Process and exercise guidance. Dr. Vik is certified in the Webster Technique and is working toward fellowship certification from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. A first visit includes a consultation, a chiropractic, neurological and orthopedic examination, and full spine x-rays as indicated, followed by a first treatment when chiropractic care is appropriate. The office publishes its prices: $67 for a new patient and $60 for an adjustment.

FAQs

Where is the office and when is it open?
Pueblo West Chiropractic Center is at 171 South Purcell Blvd, Pueblo, CO 81007. The office is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm and again from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and is closed Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Call (719) 547-1979 to schedule an appointment.
What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit includes an in depth consultation with the doctor about what is concerning you, a thorough chiropractic, neurological and orthopedic examination to help locate the cause of the problem, and full spine x-rays as indicated. If it is determined that chiropractic care is appropriate for your condition, you will then receive or be scheduled for your first treatment.
What does care cost?
The office publishes its costs for chiropractic care and services on its forms page. New patient prices are $67 and an adjustment is $60.
Will every patient receive the same type of treatment?
No. The practice believes in personalized care. Your spine, posture and health history are assessed before a unique treatment plan is created for you, and the office works with each patient to design a specific corrective approach for their lifestyle and ailments.
Do you treat children?
Yes. The practice offers pediatric chiropractic and says the adjustment is safe for patients of all ages, including newborns. After an assessment of your child's spine, the chiropractor performs a gentle adjustment using either his hands or a small tool. Dr. Vik is working toward his fellowship certification from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?
The practice says chiropractic treatment is safe and effective for pregnant women and recommends starting early in pregnancy so issues can be detected and treated quickly. It uses the Webster Technique, which corrects the position of the sacrum and manipulates the soft tissue ligament of the uterus, relieving uterine tension so the baby is more likely to be in a healthier delivery position.
Can chiropractic help after a car accident?
Yes. The office treats auto accident and other personal injuries, and says even injuries that seem minor can lead to long-term pain and limited mobility if ignored. Specific adjustments are used to restore proper biomechanics and remove neurological interference, with reported results including decreased neck pain from whiplash, improved range of motion, less muscle spasm and inflammation, and reduced numbness and tingling, all without drugs or invasive procedures.
Do I need to fill out paperwork before my appointment?
It is not required. The office provides new patient forms on its website that you can print and complete before your first visit, including a chiropractic consent form, pediatric intake forms, an x-ray privacy form, a liability waiver, a health questionnaire and a photo consent form. Completing them in advance saves you and the staff time when you come in.
