Metro Waste & Recycling
Metro Waste & Recycling is a waste and recycling transfer station in Greeley, Colorado, serving the city of Greeley and the surrounding Weld County community. Rather than making the long drive to the closest landfill, homeowners, businesses, contractors, and commercial waste management companies can drop waste and recyclables at the Apricot Avenue facility. The site accepts bulky household waste such as mattresses, box springs, rugs, and furniture, construction and DIY debris including wood, drywall, bricks, roofing, tiles, and flooring, yard and organic waste such as tree branches, grass clippings, and leaves, and recyclables including glass, cans, and plastic. Single-stream recycling is accepted and kept separate from the general waste transferred to landfills, and ferrous and non-ferrous metal is taken for processing at the company's Denver area facilities. Hazardous materials are not accepted. The drop-off process is a simple four steps: weigh in at the scale, unload indoors, weigh out empty, then pay a fee calculated from the difference in weight. Metro Waste & Recycling operates a state-of-the-art roofed facility designed to mitigate odors and reduce environmental impact, and runs as a division of Metro Metals with a management team experienced in recycling, waste logistics, and environmental, health, and safety practices.
