FAQs
How does the process start?
It starts with a free, no obligation consultation. The team meets with you to listen and assess the situation, then designs a plan together with you around your objective, and from there handles the work so there is nothing left for you to manage.
Do you only work with seniors?
The focus is on seniors and their families, and much of the work is built around senior relocation, downsizing and estate clearing. That said, the same services cover any household facing a move, a downsizing or an estate that needs to be cleared, and the plan is customized to the situation.
What happens to belongings that are not moving to the new home?
Items can be sold at an estate sale, listed on the CTBids online auction site, donated, recycled or hauled away. The team sorts and organizes everything first, so the family can decide what to keep, sell or give away before anything leaves the house.
What is CTBids?
CTBids is the online estate auction site used for these sales. Bidding starts at $1, and listing online puts items in front of shoppers in the Grand Junction area and nationwide, which gives families a broader audience of buyers than a local sale alone.
Can you help with packing and unpacking?
Yes. Professional packers handle the packing and unpacking, including cherished fragile items, for both local moves and long distance relocations, so you can focus your time and attention elsewhere.
Can proceeds from an estate sale go to charity?
Yes, through the Caring for a Cause program. Items that do not sell can be donated, the proceeds of the sale can go to a charity you choose, and a portion of the estate sale commissions is donated to a charity you select.
What is senior resettling?
Resettling is the work of setting up the new home after the move. The team gets to know a senior's daily habits and organizes the new space to keep as much continuity as possible, taking furniture placement, cabinet organization and safety into account.
