Do you only treat children?
Bright Star Kids Dentistry is a pediatric dental practice, and Dr. Lawrence Musanje cares for children here in Commerce City, Colorado. Special needs dentistry is part of what we offer, and our team takes the time to explain each step of the visit so your child feels at ease.
What if my child is anxious about dental visits?
We understand that going to the dentist can make many kids feel anxious, so we provide gentle care at your child's pace and allow you to stay with your child in our treatment rooms. We also offer sedation options, such as nitrous oxide (laughing gas), to help anxious children feel more relaxed and comfortable during procedures.
What are your office hours?
We are open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Saturday hours are 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and we are open one Saturday a month. We are closed on Sunday.
Do you take dental insurance?
Our office accepts all PPO dental insurances and is in-network with Aetna, Anthem, Assurant, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian Direct, Humana, MetLife, United Concordia and UnitedHealthcare. We do not accept HMOs. We also accept cash, credit cards and CareCredit.
Do you have any special offers?
Yes. We offer a free initial exam, valid only for children under 18 months of age. Families without dental insurance can use our dental cleaning special, which includes cleanings, exams, X-rays and fluoride treatment for $99 for children under 6 years old, or $150 for children aged 7 and older. At what age do children typically get braces?
The age for orthodontic treatment varies, but it often starts between 9 and 14 years old when most permanent teeth have erupted. Early evaluations are recommended to monitor development and intervene if necessary, so a consultation with our pediatric dentist can tell you whether your child needs braces.
Are dental X-rays safe for children?
Yes, dental X-rays are safe, and we take necessary precautions to minimize radiation exposure, such as using lead aprons and digital X-ray technology. We also use panoramic and cephalometric X-rays and intraoral cameras as needed.
