Why choose us?

Conservative treatment philosophy

Dr. Kilcoyne describes himself as a conservative dentist whose priority is to avoid treatment with good preventative care, preferring a sealant over the smallest filling and advising patients against replacing perfectly functional amalgam fillings.

Evidence based dentistry

The practice follows evidence based dentistry, meaning care is based on sound scientific evidence where available and every product and technology used is evaluated for health benefits and risks rather than market trends.

Extended weekday hours

The office states that for patient convenience it stays open until 6pm on Tuesdays and opens at 6am on Thursdays, which makes early morning and after work appointments possible.

Gentle care for anxious patients

The team recognizes that many patients arrive after years of avoiding dental care out of fear, and aims to remove that anxiety with a gentle touch. Sedation dentistry and localized anesthetic are used to keep extractions comfortable.

Digitally guided dental implants

Implants are placed digitally guided. The practice takes a 3D scan, plans the implant position before the appointment, then 3D prints a guide for precise placement, which it says makes the process faster and more predictable.

Modern imaging in the office

Foothills Dental uses digital x-rays that result in up to 80% less radiation exposure than traditional images, plus an extraoral camera with a macro stabilized lens that shows teeth and gums on a monitor without uncomfortable positioning.

FAQs

Where is Foothills Dental located?
The practice is at 415 W Rockrimmon Blvd, Suite 200, Colorado Springs, CO 80919, in the Rockrimmon area. You can reach the office at 719-535-8049 or office@foothillsdentalcos.com.
What are the office hours?
Foothills Dental is open Monday 8am to 5pm, Tuesday 10am to 6pm, Wednesday 8am to 5pm, and Thursday 6am to 2pm, and is closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The practice highlights these extended hours as a convenience, staying open into the evening on Tuesday and opening early on Thursday.
Do you offer specials for new patients?
Yes. New patients can get a cleaning, exam and x-rays for $99, described by the practice as over $200 in savings in the absence of perio disease, or a $40 oral exam with bitewing x-rays and a cancer screening. Free tooth whitening is offered upon completion of a new patient exam, x-rays and professional cleaning. Each offer is for new patients only and cannot be combined with another offer. Patients with perio disease receive a 20% discount off their first treatment.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is required at the time of service. The office accepts cash, personal checks, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, along with CareCredit healthcare financing.
What should I do in a dental emergency?
Call the office at 719-535-8049 immediately if a tooth has been knocked out, you have had trauma to the mouth, or a dental prosthetic has come loose. Try to save any tooth pieces, rinse them and keep them in water or milk. If your mouth is bleeding, rinse with warm water and place gauze over the area to control the bleeding.
Do you treat children?
Yes. The practice sees children of all ages and advises that dental care start as soon as the teeth erupt. Sealants are also offered, which the office notes are typically used for children and teenagers whose teeth are still developing.
Do you place dental implants?
Yes. Foothills Dental places implants using a digitally guided process: a 3D scan is taken, the implant is placed digitally before your arrival, and a 3D printed guide is used for precise positioning. Straightforward, predictable cases are treated in the office, and complex cases may be referred to a specialist.
How does the Care to Share referral program work?
Existing patients receive a $50 gift certificate for each new patient they refer from outside their own family, and the referred patient receives $50 off future dental treatment. Have the new patient mention your name when they schedule so both of you are credited. The new patient must complete the scheduled appointment for the rewards to be issued.
