What happens at my first visit?
The team reviews your medical and dental history and discusses your goals for your oral health. All new patients receive a thorough comprehensive exam that includes imaging, oral cancer screenings, and periodontal checks. If impressions are needed for Invisalign trays, crowns, or other restorative work, the iTero digital scanner takes 3D images instead of using impression material.
Do you take dental insurance, and what if I do not have any?
The practice accepts most dental insurances and offers third-party financing through CareCredit. Patients without an employer-provided benefit plan can join the Broomfield Family Dentistry Membership Plan, which includes cleanings, exams, oral cancer screenings, x-rays as determined necessary, one emergency exam with x-rays per year if needed, one fluoride treatment per year, and up to 15% off the cost of any needed treatment.

Can you help with a dental emergency?

Yes. Broomfield Family Dentistry offers Invisalign clear aligners for gapped, crooked, or misaligned teeth as well as overbites and underbites. Aligners are custom made from 3D digital impressions taken with the iTero scanner, and the Invisalign SmileView simulator lets you preview your result from a smartphone photo.
How do you treat TMJ problems?
Dr. Sweeny discusses your symptoms and conducts a thorough exam that can include imaging or assessments of jaw function and occlusion. Treatment uses splint orthotics based on the theory of centric relation to stabilize the joint, and the splints are worn daily rather than only at night.
