FAQs
How are moving costs calculated?
Pricing is based on the distance of your move, the total weight or volume of your belongings, the number of movers and hours required, and any specialty services such as packing, storage or handling of large items. Local moves are typically billed hourly, while long distance moves are priced by weight and mileage. You receive a detailed quote up front so you know what to expect.
Is my quote binding, or can the price change?
Both binding and non binding estimates are offered. A binding estimate locks in the price regardless of actual weight, as long as your inventory does not change. A non binding estimate reflects expected costs but may adjust if the actual weight differs significantly. Your coordinator explains which type of estimate you are receiving before moving day.
Are there extra fees I should know about?
Common additional charges such as long carry fees, stair fees, elevator fees, or shuttle fees for areas a large truck cannot reach are disclosed up front in your estimate. Sharing all relevant details about your home during the quoting process helps keep the estimate accurate.
What payment methods are accepted?
Major credit cards, debit cards, cashier's checks and money orders are accepted. Personal checks may be accepted for certain local moves with prior approval. Payment terms vary by move type, and your moving coordinator confirms acceptable methods and due dates when you book.
Do you offer packing services?
Yes. Full service packing, partial packing of specific rooms or items, and unpacking at your new home are all available. Professional packers use high quality materials, and packing is priced separately from the move itself, so ask your coordinator for a packing quote.
Do you offer storage during a move?
Yes. Short term and long term storage is available in secure, climate controlled facilities. Belongings are loaded into your own sealed wooden vaults and stored in a locked, monitored warehouse with inventory tracking. Access to stored items generally requires 24 to 48 hours of advance notice because vaults may be stacked in the warehouse.
What coverage applies if something is damaged?
Two levels of liability coverage are offered as federal law requires. Released Value Protection is included at no charge but provides minimal coverage at 60 cents per pound per article. Full Value Protection covers repair, replacement or a cash settlement at current market value for an additional cost. Note any damage on the Bill of Lading before signing at delivery, then contact the claims department.
Can you move our office over a weekend?
Yes. After hours, weekend and holiday moving options are available for commercial clients so business days are not lost. Overnight moves can be arranged, and furniture disassembly, reassembly and modular workstation installation are offered so the new space is ready when staff arrive.
