Mosquito Hero
Mosquito Hero provides mosquito control and tick control for homes across the Denver metro area, including Arvada, Wheat Ridge and Golden. Mosquito Hero is a sub-brand of Weed Man, the lawn care franchise that launched the Mosquito Hero brand in 2020 after more than 50 years in the home services industry. Service starts with a property inspection: a technician walks the yard and identifies where mosquitoes rest and breed, such as under decks and covered porches, in shrubs and low hanging trees, in tall grass, and around standing water. Technicians then use specialized equipment to apply a liquid-based formula to those hot spots, creating a barrier around the home that takes immediate effect and prevents mosquitoes for up to 30 days. Properties are treated monthly through the active season, with each visit including a fresh evaluation of high-risk areas. Tick control is also available: the first application lasts 4 to 5 weeks and places a residual insecticide along property lines and around structures such as dog houses, kennels, sidewalks, pathways and patios. Products are federally approved and applied by highly trained, state-licensed technicians according to label directions. Free quotes are available, pricing is based on the size and density of the property, and the mosquito control program is backed by a service guarantee that covers free re-treatment.

FAQs
Are mosquito control treatments safe for pets and kids?
Mosquito Hero uses products evaluated for safety by the US Environmental Protection Agency, which are safe and effective when prepared and applied according to their labeled use. Mosquito Hero still recommends that children and pets stay inside during spraying and for a minimum of 30 minutes after the application is complete.
How often do you treat for mosquitoes?
A one-time treatment is only temporary, so a season-long program is recommended. That usually means a monthly visit during the active mosquito season, with each application preventing mosquitoes for up to 30 days.
Does someone need to be home for the treatment?
No. It is not necessary for someone to be present on the day of service as long as gates are accessible and unlocked so technicians can reach the whole property. If you are not home, Mosquito Hero sends a service summary by email or text.
How much does mosquito control cost?
Pricing is based on the size and density of the property and the amount of product needed, because every property is unique. Request a free quote to get pricing for your yard.
What does the service guarantee cover?
Under the Mosquito Service Guarantee, if you experience biting between monthly treatments Mosquito Hero will re-treat your property for free. Complete elimination of mosquitoes is not guaranteed, and Cattail Mosquitoes are excluded because that species is especially difficult to control.
Do you treat ponds or other water sources?
No. Although water is a common mosquito breeding ground, Mosquito Hero considers treating it environmentally irresponsible and maintains a safe distance from water sources when applying mosquito control treatments.
Do you offer tick control as well?
Yes. Mosquito Hero offers a tick control service aimed at eliminating ticks from your property and preventing further tick activity. The first application lasts between 4 and 5 weeks, and a residual insecticide is applied along property lines and around structures such as dog houses, kennels, sidewalks, pathways and patios.
Does rain affect the treatment?
Rain will not impact the treatment. As long as the weather clears long enough for the application to dry, typically 30 to 45 minutes depending on humidity, the treatment remains effective.
