Jones Tree & Lawn, Inc. is a tree and lawn care company on Harlan Street in Arvada, Colorado, serving the Denver metro area and surrounding foothills communities. Co-founders Kevin and Tom Goldtrap, who are not the current owners, started the business as Jones' Landscape Care Company in January 1988. The partnership became a corporation in 1992, purchased the present Arvada office and land in 1996, acquired Denver Forestry Tree and Plant Health Company in 1998, and changed the name to Jones Tree & Lawn, Inc. in 1999. Work covers Class One and Class Two tree trimming, crown cleaning and deadwood pruning, tree and shrub removal, stump grinding and grubbing, shrub pruning, plant health care programs, tree and shrub spraying, emerald ash borer control, arborist consulting, weed control in mulch and rock beds, lawn aeration, and the Meister Lawn Care fertilization program of four applications spaced six to eight weeks apart. The company has 5 ISA Certified Arborists and 2 ISA Certified Tree Workers on staff and is licensed and insured to provide tree services in the state of Colorado. Kevin Smith and Megan Radway, both longtime employees, purchased the company from the original co-founders beginning in 2017 and now run it as owner/operators. Jones Tree & Lawn has been an accredited business since 1995 and currently holds an A+ rating. Please note that the company does not mow lawns.

Tree trimming
Complete Tree Trim (Class One), Class Two Tree Trim, and Crown Clean / Deadwood Pruning, including crown cleaning and crown thinning.
Tree and shrub removal
All above ground portions of the tree or shrub are cut down to a stump and disposed of.
Stump grinding and removal
A stump grinding machine extracts the stump and root flare down to a minimum depth of 6 inches. Stumps can also be grubbed out manually.
Plant health care programs
Application of insecticides, fungicides, repellents, and fertilizers to prevent or control plant pest problems, with a program designed uniquely for each property by a Certified Arborist.
Emerald ash borer control
Preventive treatments including soil-based applications, trunk sprays, and trunk injections. Soil based and trunk sprays are annual treatments done March through September, and trunk injections last up to 2 years.

How does the Meister Lawn Care program work?
It is 4 applications spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. The first visit is a liquid stabilized nitrogen with micro-nutrients plus pre-emergent and broadleaf weed and crabgrass control, the second adds humic acid, iron, and injector with broadleaf weed control, the third is a summer formulation with a soil surfactant and spot weed control, and the fourth is a granular fall formulation. Free service calls are included anytime upon request.
Can you treat my ash trees for emerald ash borer?
Yes. Emerald ash borer has been found in Westminster, Broomfield, Thornton, Arvada, Littleton, and Lakewood, and untreated ash trees die in 3 to 4 years. Arborists create a custom program using soil-based treatments, trunk sprays applied March through September, or trunk injections that last up to 2 years.
Do you charge for estimates?
Lawn care estimates and tree stump removal estimates are free. For a stump, the company visits the property to determine the cost and to verify the grinder can reach the stump, then provides a written estimate before scheduling.
What payment methods do you accept?
Residential accounts can pay by cash, check, or major credit card, and payment is due upon receipt of services or by the due date on the invoice. New commercial accounts need a valid credit card on file or an approved credit application.
What are your hours?
Jones Tree & Lawn is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and closed Saturday and Sunday.
