What happens at a first visit?
The team starts by reviewing your dental and medical history forms. You can complete the new patient forms online after booking, or arrive at least 45 minutes early to fill them out in the office. Next the team takes x-rays of your teeth and pictures of your mouth, then the doctor meets with you to review the x-rays, build your treatment plan, and answer your questions. At the following visit a hygienist cleans and polishes your teeth and checks for cavities or early signs of tooth decay or gingivitis.
What insurance and payment options do you accept?
AFC Dentistry accepts most major credit cards and PPO insurance plans. The team will take your information, run a complimentary check on your benefits, and help you decide how to maximize them. For treatment beyond what insurance covers, the practice works with CareCredit to offer third party payment options, and discusses the cost of treatment and your available payment options before treatment begins.
How does the Smile Care Program work?
Smile Care is an in-house preventive care program for patients who do not have insurance, or whose insurance does not align with the practice's services. The annual membership is $360, equal to $30 per month, and $180 for children under 16. Membership includes 2 cleanings, 2 periodic exams, 1 set of bite wing x-rays, 2 fluoride treatments, and a problem focused emergency exam with one x-ray, a package the practice values at over $600, plus discounts of 10% to 25% on major restorative, cosmetic, implant, and surgical procedures.
